Description
I'm meeting an old Uni friend Saturday and I wrote this for her. My university years were quite possibly the darkest years of my life. Her, and the little comments she'd write in the margins of my lecture notes, were more important than she'll ever know. Or care to know!

Lyrics
Write me a note in the corner of my page
So that 20 years later I can find it and read it again
And remember with a tear in my eye
And a smile on my face
How you wrote a note on my page

Meet me in Icons, meet me in Diva's or Time
Meet me in Bristol we'll sit and philosophise
I remember your kindness
I remember your rage
And how you wrote a note on my page.

Write me a note on this beer mat dear friend
So that I've something to smile at now and then
Make it witty, make it clever
Oh just like the days
When you wrote a note on my page.

relaxing vocals - hovering - stirring - leonard cohen and david bowie come to mind - i recall being broke and homesick
also while attending a far away college

Singing
in this register reminds of The Crash Test Dummies singer Brad Roberts (+ our very own Len Gold). Perhaps "Ballad" or "Piano" genre might be more appropriate and get this more attention.

Nostalgic, melancholy- I like.

The Corner Of My Page
The chord progression is haunting and quite lovely. Good concept which could be stronger with a vocal bridge which digs a little deeper into the story.

Enjoyed
Hi Alex. I like the piano work and the sombre chord progression. The lower vocal register also grows on you and suits the mood of the song. Melancholy is a good description but it does have some feeling of hope as well. Enjoyed, Peter.

Thanks
Hi Chaps,

Thanks for your input - APB, you were spot on - wasn't great tagging of this track - have changed it to ballad!

Dave B - couldn't agree more. Needs to go off somewhere. Rushed it a touch as I'm meeting her today and wanted to take it with me. But definitely think its worth doing something like that with it later down the line. Thanks for the tip.

Appreciate the comments fellas all of you!

Top tip Alex..
if you reply like this, the commenters will most likely not be aware you have replied (they don't see it). If you reply directly to each comment with the reply button located by their comment, they will + you will get more participation points (if that floats yer boat). I only noticed you had replied to me by returning to your song for another listen.

I hope...
That this really evocative tune lets her know how powerful she has been in your life... You transported us right there with you.. Fine work! And thanks for the lovely emotional experience...

Haunting
I love the lyrics. Clear and resonant piano. Voice certainly takes a melancholy approach. Memories of how little acts kindness of friendship can mean a lot. Much enjoyed.
