Lyrics
Out of Reach

I’m going to the highland
Where the bones are on the hill
I’ll take a view to the island
Where the sky is never still

I see vanilla houses
A ladder on the wall
I hear distant voices
The old grey city hall

I don’t know where I’m going
And I don’t know why I leave
Shadow on the horizon
Out of reach

I feel a wind that never stops
I see a kite that never flies
I’ll get my supper from the shop
Where everything is fried

There’s a cargo heading out
On a routine business trip
And one left on the land
Whose nets have never slipped

I know why I go there
And I don’t know why I leave
Towers cut through the skyline
Out of reach

Kick across the grass
Take a photo with my mind
Walk across the single track
For something I cant find

And I know when I’ve to go
Bit I’ll sit here while I can
There’s one thing I should do
Is draw a line there in the same

Great song. Wonderful melody and lyrics. Excellent vocal performance. Lovely chorus. I like the arrangement. The outstanding 12 string tone you captured underpins the whole thing perfectly. Welcome to MJ!

Beautiful acoustic sounds... is that an upright piano I hear? Very nice melody. Good vocals and lyrics. The 12 string is wonderful and tasty electric nuances. Like the chorus. Good song writing.

The opening
sound alone gives the impression of open spaces and your lyrics and solo guitar do the rest.... lovely song and accompaniment/performance.... love the nice clear vocals too..... welcome back; haven't seen you around for ages, regards M

I was travelling in Alaska and Canada when you posted this, Ronnie, so I thought I would reach back and check it out. Your songwriting and vocal work is very appealing. I like this style of style a lot. Good song. Good post. Take care, Peter.
