Nice one Dave
has a sound reminiscent of some of The Butthole Surfers gentler ballads. It's a sound I really like - psychedelic with an edge - the way the chorus moves - and the tension rising in the dog sniffing break. Excellent!

This sounds like a story from the seventies - lots of resonances musically from that period too - but having been there, I can't remember much about it :)

Ya... Canada has not been so nice to me too... I remember going from Seattle to Victoria (like a million US tourists do all the time) and getting hassled at the crossing... An hour long questioning session about our intents for visiting Canada... I finally got pissed enough to pull out a hundred dollar bill and say to the lady... I really had hoped to spend this today in your town... you're not making it very easy. We were passed through about 2 minutes later... Not sure if they thought I was bribing them or what... LOL Cool tune Dave!!!

The Vancouver bit happened to my best friend when we were stopped over at the airport. They took him into a room for about 20 mins. The Prague thing happened to me, except for the dog thing. I had a bit more than 6 Heinekens in Amsterdam, too.
But, that's song writing.

i'd think you were carrying too. i'm with Bud. it really does have a butthole surfers vibe. I like the low doubled vocal on the 'and when we're done' bit. where's the hendrix guitar solo - i expect it to pop up after the break. i like the 'goddamn customs man' line, very 60's. Oh and the 'm,m,m,m' at the end is inspired. my favorite part of the tune.

My buddy looked like a roadie for the Greatful Dead. That's why they busted his balls. And who smuggles pot from Canada to Holland anyway? What would be the point?

Sorry about my lack of solos lately. Just can't get into it lately. But you're right it could use some more flare. I just a writer who happens to play guitar, not the other way around.

Classy sounding backer. I like the way the acoustic holds the groove, and the strings pad works well. Strong vocals, I especially like the phrasing in the bridge.
