A few years back, my wiseguy brother-in-law was making fun of me, you know, giving me the business, for hiding behind synths. Well, yeah, that's what I do hahaha. So, I decided, with his encouragement, to do a straighter guitar piece with some kind of actual melodic theme. At about that time Obbster (Liam) posted his instrumental synth-based Emblym, which I really liked. I heard the theme, and figured I could latch onto that for a guitar-based version. He graciously agreed to let me have at it. It came out OK, but recently, I decided to re-mix it and to add a few seconds to the middle section. He has again been kind enough to let me post it. Liam has removed his version, so you won't be able to tell how much I stomped all over his original.
Needless to say, this one is full of synths. I like 'em. What can I say? But some of the synthy sounds are actually heavily effected guitars. I hope you enjoy it. One of my favorites. Thanks again to Liam, an actual songwriter.

...has a majestic feel to it. very grand. i think this is one of your best uses of dynamics in a composition--instrumentally and how you mixed it. I can hear the subtlety of the low parts and the depth of the higher parts...not one constant LOUD overcompressed block. superb, my friend. please do more mangling...
