Description
I used to just sit around at make songs all the time -- recording live into a harman kardon cassette deck with 2 mics -- I had and still have a vox continental organ and a realistic moog mg-1 -- this song is from 1983 or so and an example of what I used to do all the time. I'd play left hand 3 finger chords on vox continental, and right hand finger melody ? on realistic moog. and I'd sing at the same time. sing? I was told I moaned like a dying cow. for drums by 1983 I'd moved from my original concertmate radio shack drum right up the line to a mattel synsonics. I still have both those machines too :-) I would NEVER even ATTEMPT anything as ambitious as this song today -- utilizing primitive sync technique I did my best to make moog sync with synsonics. the way you did this was, you'd set moog to play automatically with trigger, then boom boom boom out the closest approximation to the beat on synsonics, using a finger on a certain button, and then pray it would stay synced for the 4 minutes of song or so. like windshield wipers and turn signals, often this would go together for a bit, then it would slowly get off until pretty soon you're playing onbeat on the 2's and 4's instead of the 1's and 3's. a certain recompense it would eventually get so far off it would sync again. there's a lesson there somewhere. if anyone likes this sort of old song I have around 200 more lol. I intended, and still intend, to remake most if not all of them. some are already done ;-) and you may have heard them on here. I couldn't find a pic from 1983 I was camera shy this one is more recent by about 25 years lol

I had notebook after notebook of weird lyrics like these I tossed them in the great purge of 1986. a tattoo is a drumbeat or something I think. lol what's really funny with this song is synsonics drum didn't play the bass drum by default. so often I'd record a whole song with no bass drum. in this one though I noticed it wasn't flashing the bass led and took my hand off vox and pushed bass drum button to get it to go. so it really kicks in lol. I used to drive my family and roommates crazy always playing this weird music. now I get to drive macjams crazy and it's fun. I was already crazy long beforehand ;-) enjoy.

Lyrics
modesty don't live in the widest home it don't sail on the breeze thru the tallest trees
pride comes to stay it just won't leave you alone brings you to your knees keeps you begging it please
the way is dark the street is clear the other points you're touching near

stop and park right over here you're making noise for all to hear
faster now you see the impasse you've blown it matters not to me when you pitifully plea
live life as you may go along your own grow singing to the beats of triumvirate retreats

dance to the tattoo dance to the tattoo tapdance to the tattoo

Ooh! New DImm!
Or should i say old dimm? regardless, I dig it. Love the whew whew whew chugging and almost carosel like higher organ. As usual, the lyrics are obscure, and interesting. Delivery isn't terrible, I don't get dying cow. A bit monotone perhaps but that's just part of the Dimm Goodness!

That's some raw krautrock boogie! Thanks for the description, impressive action on your gear there. Really great when the heavier drum kicks in!

Young and innocent(?) voice too.

Glad you're back Dimm, order is restored!

Keys might be 80's but this sounds like a slice of mid-60's garage (punk in the original sense) rock. Think its the Farfisa-like organ and the changes. Enjoyed it!
