Quack's Blues

Description
This is a little piece of music I put together and named after a friend of mine. Not really sure what the genre is so I put it under Progressive Rock for lack of a better place to put it.

It's an instrumental that I hope you like, so here's Quack's Blues

Quack's Blues
I say it's blues! I love the sound of an organ on a funky little 12 bar jam! Some tasty soloing you got happening here!

Thanks Andrew
I kind of felt that it was more blues then anything else but still not too sure. I've redone this song file since the original was done in 1994, and added the organ tracks when I did this version. Love the sound of an organ on a song like this one. Thanks again for listening and for the kind words, they are appreciated.

Be well and be cool Andrew,

Ed

bluesy and a bit honky tonk, too. Good one, Ed. it has a bit of a swagger. Thanks.

Glad you enjoyed this Bluesy little tune. As for the swagger, that's the way my friend, who I wrote this for was about life, he had a bit of a swagger.

Thanks again for listening and the kind words.

Ed

Well Andy,
The song is called "Quack's Blues". What's more appropriate then a duck.
Glad you enjoyed the song. Love the Sax part you laid down for it my friend, it's so mellow.

Just read about Booker T. making a comeback as a solo artist. This sounds like something he'd do.
Like the way the organ meshes with the rhythm section.Cool track.

I haven't heard anything,
about Booker T in so many year I can't remember when it was. I do remember him from the late 50's and 60's though and he had a very unique sound and style that made him stand out from the crowd.

Thanks for putting Booker t's and my name in the same sentence, it makes a guy feel pretty good. I'd love to hear some of his old stuff, as well as some of the new stuff, if he is making a comeback.

Glad you enjoyed the song and that you left the kind words for me, it is appreciated.

Be well and be cool, John

it was a fun piece to do even 17 years ago, but all the more this time for the Organ additions. I alway felt it needed the organ part but up until now I was too lazy to add them.

Thanks again for listening and the kind words, Doug, they are appreciated.

Very 60s
Groovy feel to this one very much reminds me of thoses 60s tv shows. I can just see Walter Matthau walking down the street to this in the Odd Couple. Or waddling if it is a duck. Nice one Ed

Well, being stuck in the 60's might have something to do with that groove. The Odd Couple does see right when it comes to Gary and I because he and I did do some strange music every once in a while.

Glad you enjoyed the song. Thanks again for listening, and the kind words, they are appreciated.

Glad you like the sound, and the music. The original didn't have that organ part in it like this one does. I added it for the new version using the organ sound from out of that era, layered with a Hammond B3 sound I found.
Thanks again for listening Vic, and the kind words, they are appreciated.

Be well and be cool my friend,

Ed

Hey there, honky... I mean Quacky!
Good to hear this clean production from one of the best studio "honkies" around! Er, I mean production mentors. Great, clean sound all around, great control and great organ. For a tune in a minor key, this still produces a happy listen, maybe owing to the clarity.

If it ain't happy
it an't happy, I always say.

Hey there Bobby, god to see you here tonight. Thanks for dropping by to listen Bro and leave a comment. I do so appreciate that, as you know. I'm glad you liked the way the song came out, even with the contradiction between the happy and the minor. Seems to work though so who's to say ya can't do that. Hell I do it all the time, but then I'm trapped in those pesky minor keys and can't seem to get out.

Thanks again for listening Bob.

Be well and be cool,

Brother Ed
