Description
A friend of mine was going through some marriage problems and that inspired me to write this song. This song is a few years old, but I still like it. I hope you do too.

Lyrics
Monologue:
Man, can you tell me why is it so hard to find a good woman these days? It’s a shame, man, you know what I’m saying? Back in the days a woman used to lay out your robe, have your paper ready, cook your food, even give you a piggy back ride if you needed it. Now I’m just stuck with this ol’ raggamuffin, man, I don’t know what to do. You know it’s a shame. Damn, I miss my boo. A good woman is hard to find.

1st Verse
She's been good to all of your life
For as long as you've both been together
Stood right by your side
When the chips were down
Sometimes gave you a shoulder to lean on
And then you turn around
And take her kindness for weakness
Not realising she's hurting inside
There you to again taking her for granted
Aah, you never miss the water
Till the well runs dry

Chorus
So don't wait till she leaves, no
To try to make it better
See if you wait too long
Soon it’ll be the 12th of never
So don't wait till she leaves, no
To try to make it better
See if you wait too long
Soon it’ll be the 12th of never

2nd Verse
You stepped on her heart
And she forgave you once or twice
Did it again and she forgave you the third time
How much more do you want her to take, hell
Aah, can’t you see that
You’re breaking her down, down, down, down, down
You’re breaking her down, down, down, down, down
She knows what you did but this time she didn’t cry
Here you come running
With your mouth full of nothing but those lies.

Chorus
So don't wait till she leaves, no
To try to make it better
See if you wait too long
Soon it’ll be the 12th of never
So don't wait till she leaves, no
To try to make it better
See if you wait too long
Soon it’ll be the 12th of never

Bridge
She’s tired of your shit and sick of those lies
Still wondering when will you realize
You’re breaking her down, down, down, down, down
Still breaking her down, down, down, down, down
Stop breaking her down, down, down, down, down

Chorus
Don't wait till she leaves, no
To try to make it better
See if you wait too long
Soon it’ll be the 12th of never
So don't wait till she leaves, no
To try to make it better
See if you wait too long
Soon it’ll be the 12th of never

great ensemble singing!
Wow! this is really good. Are you doing all the vocals? It's very tight, and a great sound out of that SM-57. Everything about this is very professional and fresh.

Yes, I'm doing all of the vocals except for the monologue. Thanks for the
feedback.

I was expecting Earth, Wind, and Fire!
Yeah, these vocals are great! You've got got excellent control and move easily between a number of vocal treatments, from smooth, rough, thin, and thck. The harmonies also work to great effect. You should post the lyrics!

I think the song works well enough as an instrumental backdrop for the vocal performance. The bass is nice and punchy and there is just enough synth present to create harmony. I think you could could wind this track up even tighter if you were to create more structure with the instruments. Maybe some chord substitutions or rhythmic changes?

Wow, and you managed it with 128MB RAM?!

I was expecting Earth, Wind, and Fire!
Remember, back then (circa 1999) everything was 16 bit. I was kinda on the
cutting edge back then. I sold my Tascam 8-track (synched up to the
compuer via smpte) and got a very primitive Boss sampler and Cubase VST
3.0 (I had just graduated from Cubase 2.5). I think I was getting between 12
-14 tracks with most background vocals being cut on the Tascam and then
transferred into the Boss sampler.

Finally...
some soul here! Incredible voice! I seem to be in the
minority thinking that most show tunes/electronic dance
songs are boring. This tune is brilliant. MacJams needs
more of this flava. The crisp clear production is vibrant
with emotion. My only complaint is some lyrics and
artwork should have been included before releasing it to
make it a complete professional presentation. Still, the
song is so strong I gave it 10-9-10-10. Thanks for
sharing it. Please keep 'em coming.

exceptional
Singing and production are superb. You make it sound like a group of singers rather than the same singer overdubbed. It's just very well arranged and performed.

I'd be curious to hear the result of your vocal skills mixed with another MacJammer's style and skill. Not that you don't have a complete package working in your music. I just imagine that something very unique and magnificent might result. So many different sounds here at MacJams.

Temptations influence?
This is an amazing song and certainly one of the best I
have heard here. You have an incredible amount of soul in
your voice and deliver with pure power and emotion. I am
in awe!

Your insight into
marriage is only exceeded by your soulful harmonies.
This is as good as any tune one would hear on the radio.
Now you got me thinking of getting back into the soul
music groove....

Thanks for sharing this song.

You have very good vocal qualities.
Some nice writing in there.

It is amazing, the music that comes out of this place
sometimes. (MJ)

Another Excellent Track
Hilarious monologue, excellent song and Beautiful vocals
- only thing I might suggest is maybe bring out the vocals
a bit more during the choruses.
