Description
We've been rehearsing to play a gig at a friend's party in a couple of weeks. Last night we were determined to focus on working on the songs we're going to play. Problem is the three of us are each afflicted with varying levels of ADD.
I started playing a riff, Andre started playing some lead and Colin (my son) improvised a drum beat... it sounded pretty good so I started making up some lyrics. Fortunately, we had the foresight to turn on my little Tascam recorder.
Live, improvised and one take. My mic and acoustic, Andre's Strat and Colin's V-Drums were plugged directly into the PA. No guitar amps were harmed in the making of this song.
Brought in to Garageband to bring up the volume a little. I'll be hashing out lyrics for this one of these days.
One important note: This is the first time I've had the opportunity to collaborate with my son on an original song. Pretty darn cool, huh?

I gotta roll on... to you.

from you Adam. Leaving the recorder on during rehearsals is a basic part of our Shed days now, thanks to our drummer Pete's endless nagging :) This has some real potential for sure. I can hardly wait til my daughter moves back down here so she can join the band on keyboards. I look forward to hearing this fleshed out.
Cheers from Oz,
Neil
