Description

I hope this gives someone a smile today. I don't remember much about this one, although it features the much discussed "walking to the microphone" sequence that you may have read about in the latest trade journals (which I guess is being compared to the famous "Odessa Steps Sequence" in the silent classic "Potemkin"--NOT that I agree with any of that rubbish!)

I have so many sound effects and stuff in here, it's probably best to listen with headphones to appreciate the full, unblemished and beautiful epic scope of this masterpiece.

Yes. I've played there a time or two with that little trio called "Sunday Buffet -$6.50" we had a dyslexic piano player and a lady vocalist that had a voice like an angora sweater and always made sure to date the current bar tender. Life was good back then. Thanks fir the tips on dealing with hecklers. "Play something you know!!!" never knew how to respond to,"Give the drummer some."

Ah yes...
I remember playing in the lobby of one of the casinos in Atlantic City during my formative years. This semi-drunk guy came up and asked (they always do), "You know any Gershwin?" So I played a bit of "Piano Concerto in F"--I was really good then Andy--and got rid of him instantly! Always hated the drunks--of course, I was drinking a bit then myself--probably to deal with the other drunks--it's all a shadowy mystery to me now. Thanks for the nostalgic reminiscences....Michael

That was the mop the janitor left behind--I actually mistook that thing for a guy I dated back in 1981; thank god the lights came on when they did. 	Ah, The Ashtray Room! No ifs, ands, or butts! The string players musta been poking each others' eyes out - the stage / pit is kind of small for a full orchestra. Yeah, it was packed that place--the audience had to applaud horizontally (okay,so the joke's not that good--you have to expect that sometimes). The stage was too small, as you mention, so the string section was brought in via the air duct in the adjacent men's washroom (a curious detail that you managed to stumble upon).
