Description
A few months ago, strangedream (Nat) sent me a rough outline for “Better Off Broken”. I threw some piano, synth, strings and guitar onto it and sent it back to her. She liked what she heard, but she was sick with a nagging flu and couldn’t do vox for it for a couple of months.
In the meantime, through a series of strange and unrelated events, BOB got into the ears of Christina Hitchcock, an Indie movie producer in San Francisco who was shooting a film called “Soul”. She asked us to use BOB for the opening scene of her upcoming film, and after thinking about it (yeh RIGHT!) we agreed.
In order to finish it up right, I needed some serious talent. Rok41 (Chris) and kevmikwa (Mike) agreed to lend their creative touches to this piece on bass and drums, respectively, and OH man, was it sounding good! And when I finally got Nat’s finished vocals, I knew we had something special.
A special thanks to Jason Olsen for providing me the perfect starting track. He played the rhythm guitar on this piece.
In September, Nat and I will be heading to San Francisco to shoot footage for the movie’s accompanying music video. I don’t mind telling you, my fellow macjammers, that this is an exciting time!
The film, “Soul” is being released November 5th, and will be screened at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco. For anybody who may be in the Bay area on that date and would be interested in ticket info, please just send me a pm.
On behalf of Nat, Chris and Mike, I thank you for your support, and listens.
Now please enjoy “Better off Broken”

Lyrics
Better Off Broken
You fill the room with smoke
everybody's watching you
I bet it turns you on to think
I see your every move
and although I know the way
I'm not going home tonight
I think I'll follow you
I think you want me to
Can we take your car?
The city is lonely and
the world is a scar and we're
better off broken
we're better off hard
the future is frozen
forget who you are and lets go
Don't mean that much to me
if you leave my side tonight
what makes you think you're free
what makes you think I'll hold you
and although I wanna play
I'm not going home tonight
I think I'll follow you
I think you need me to

You fill the room with smoke
everybody's watching you
I bet it turns you on to think
I see your every move
and although I know the way
I'm not going home tonight
I think I'll follow you
I think you want me to
Can we take your car?
The city is lonely and
the world is a scar and we're
better off broken
we're better off hard
the future is frozen
forget who you are and lets go
Don't mean that much to me
if you leave my side tonight
what makes you think you're free
what makes you think I'll hold you
and although I wanna play
I'm not going home tonight
I think I'll follow you
I think you need me to
