My Beautiful

I wrote this song on my first love, the piano, and was excited for the opportunity to experiment with micing a grand piano for this mix. I ended up using 6 mics on it, including two rails. A room mic 20 feet away picked up the ambiance, and a contact mic picked up the natural artifacts (like the pedal and string strikes).

This song was a really challenging vocal work, and took a while to get right. Sorry for all the (necessary) gasps for air.
