Description
Michael2 dropped a track called Perkins in the pod a few weeks back based on the drums that he sampled that are behind this track. I kept the drums and some of his synths - redid the bass and added guitars, horns and some more synths. There was no accurate bpm to work with so looping was out of the question - everything is played in. I was able to split his drum track using the drum isolator in GB to get a separate bass and snare track.
Meanwhile Bryn has been working with one element of Perkins (the screeching sound) creating an ambient track that floats in behind the opening - makes a short appearance in the middle and then again at the end.
I had recorded vocals before I went Dub - all that's left is the one short phrase.
I had a hard time getting the bass to sound fat in the bounce down and I'm not really happy with the mix - but I can't spend more time on this now. Criticism and comments are both welcome and appreciated.
