It sounds
like it would work in a Lynch movie. Perfect psychedelic piece. Be careful of those mushrooms, Tim. Thanks.

This backing track is a bit of a departure for you. I like the space and atmospheric textures. It really allows your vocals, lyrics, and some of your strongest melodic work to shine through. Nice use of odd percussion sounds and sound effects. Well mixed too!

nice atmospheric vibe....
Tim, this quite a cool little song. Kinda laid-back compared to a lot of your other songs. Makes me think of a warm afternoon in the city... you walking along thinking... cool

very different...
I wouldn't know what to comment, other than this has a cinematic feel to it. Like Char's comment, this would be a great addition to one of Lynch's movies, maybe lost highway? I would love to read the lyrics, which would help me more to understand this cool and interesting piece.

Thanks for sharing,

This is a real floaty piece for you. I love all the subtleties I'm hearing, like the guitar bits. This is very melodic full of tasty nuances. Enjoyed your vocals and well ... everything about this piece. Very creative mix.

the road
dude i listened to this while i was doing something else using the quick listen button and half way through the first verse i liked what i was hearing so much that i stopped what I was doing and clicked into it for a serious listen. i've said before how i think that these little pop tunes reside in the middle of your most progressive songs, and those little tunes give your work a great subtext, anyway here you go again, there's a bernie taupin tune in the middle of this. and i think this is one of your sweeter songs, i love it. the guitar is especially nice. like a julian cope and elton john collab. great stuff.

and I'm not sure how I missed this earlier--my apologies. I can't add much more than what's already been said, but I'm in full agreement and I think this is you at your very best. Thanks for sharing this Tim...keep up the fine work! Michael

Soundtrack
Not sure what to but I am sure this would work well with some interesting visuals. Love the tone of the guitar sort of smooth and rolling. Much enjoyed Cheers Mark

a hangover trying to clear
Very cool vocals. Really nice sense of authentic recollection, in the moment emotion. The occasional mistimed percussion hit was disorienting to me. Gave me a feel like a hangover trying to clear, conceptually. Really interesting effect on me, actually.

This sounds like coming back from a long trip ...
... as in, "luv those mushrooms!"   ;-)

No, seriously folks, I mean that in a good way. This song sets a soundscape, adds more and more things to it, then segues around 2:54 into a very different sound that nevertheless fits well with what had come before. The rhythm varies around 3:30, the snare strikes no longer hitting the downbeats, becoming even stranger around 4:25 ... all of this quite-obviously by design and it quite-obviously works. It keeps coming back to "Turn the Key," but always in a different way and even with a different continuity. And then, around 6:15, long musical notes that become almost a drone. Musical static at the end, then cut-to 3 seconds of silence.

Wow.

"Psychedelic" is a very hard genre to do. That is to say, to do well. You did this very well, indeed.
