Description
The photo is of a temple in Bangalore visited briefly during a film shoot in February. The field recording that opens this piece was made there by Ben Posnack - our sound man. It was the last thing added to this piece which originally started as a loop exercise one evening. All that is left are the drum tracks and the flute and organ which were both played on a keyboard. I've been experimenting with modifying and playing an electric bass with a violin bow and the bass tones you hear are one track clean and then effected with fuzztone and chorus - recorded with just the drums. After adding a digital Tanpura drone and playing the Boldt Sitar voice I turned on the organ and flute tracks and left them as they were - somewhat out of place and foreign to the piece (to my ear). I then remembered Ben's recording from the temple and dropped it in with a little reverb.
Thanks Ben - and Corra Films.

What a cool piece. The field recording really sets the mood. Interesting bass tone with the fuzz and chorus ... and you played it with a bow ... wow!! I would say a very successful experiment .
