Description
Yanno, my ONLY reason for this one is I wanted to try to recreate the original recording by Al Jolson but with a cleaner sound (after all, he first did it in 1922--they used bee's wax and cactus needles to record back then, if not cylinders!) So, as detrimental as this may be to the future of our planet, I humbly slap this one up before you and will be sleeping with a gun under my pillow before you even read this. Incidentally, my father-in-law's first and middle name is Al Jolson (I kid you not!)
Thanks again,
Michael
"Toot, Toot, Tootsie Goodbye" was written by Gus Kahn (1922, PD)
Arrangement/Accompaniment: Bob Boyd Recreations, circa 2005
Vocal: Snafu LaFong, Jr.
Artwork: It's Jolie! (and it never failed to amaze me that the first performer they put in the first talking picture was a guy NOBODY could really understand when he spoke--even THX surround sound and stuff, it would have been the same, believe me).
Thanks again,
Michael

There's something universal about Jolson, isn't there? My mum used to sing me his songs when was a toddler, so that's my memory and a few snippets off tv.
Needless to say, loved this. My compliments to Mr LaFong jr.
