Description
Whilst on vacation in Lincoln National Forest our car broke down. So we were stuck for about 5 extra days and so I had to come up with stuff to do. Some work needed to be done on the back porch of a little place I co-own with my brothers in New Mexico. It's my brother Walter that calls where we are Nuevo Manana and so got the inspiration from him as well as missing the convenience of wifi at home. If you know anything about the work flow in NM then ya know why the title of this song is like it is. So off to the lumber yard we went and with the help of my wife, we finished off the back porch. A project that began last spring and just needed some rails and steps. So, I was sitting on said porch with my mandolin and pulled out my smart-allecky iPhone and recorded the mando and vocals. Proof yet again that I really don't sing and I really can't play a mandolin.
When I started recording I really didn't know what I was going to sing but I could see lightning flashing off to the South and so some of the thunder was live. When the storm finally hit later I pulled out my phone and recorded the louder thunder and the rain.
Manana does not mean tomorrow necessarily . It just means 'not today.'
So in the spirit of Blue Flame Room....
