Description
This song was done with Steve Anderson a while ago. Steve did the music, and I did the lyrics/ melody/ vocals and production. I listened to the version on his page and realized that it was a super old mix. I figured I may as well upload it here in the latest mix format. This song is about James "Killer" Miller. Also known as the deacon. Perhaps the most cold blooded killer of the wild west, yet yet he fancied himself a godly man. He had no problem with shooting people in the back with a shotgun and did so often. This song actually got a fair amount of radio airplay from what Steve tells me. Quite cool!

Killed the marshall, the lawyer and the deputy

Killer
Cool, dark track. Wouldn't call it folk-rock, more like punk/metal/country. Love all the things you're doing vocally. Great production ideas, too.

Hi Charles. You and Steve did a great job with this dark tale. The structure suits the song well. Can see why it got airplay. Well done. Regards, Peter.

Killer Miller
Really cool tune - it drives and rocks almost like a metallica ballad-y type of song but this no ballad - rather this is pretty high energy (folk) rock. Great vox and well arranged - this one was really fun to listen to - enjoyed Charles - thanks!

Cold blooded deacon...
I like songs that have a lil bit of history to them. It's crazy to hear that he was a godly man and yet shot men mostly in the back-sounds very cold like you said...

The guitar work I really like. The vocals are really clean and catchy-especially the chorus. Good job and thanks for sharing :)

Killer Miller
The rhythm provides a good structure for the mood of this - that "heartbeat" sort of beat is a bit scary, like the subject of the song. Strong vocal style. Clean and clean mix with the guitars sounding nice and crisp. Much enjoyed!
