Description
This is the fifth installment of summer tunes that I've made and posted here at MJ, Summer 07 being the first (and Summer 10 probably the best ;-) They are mainly loop based and made to get me started with making music after some time of musical inertia. Let's see if you can stay "inert" while listening to this one :-)
These summer tunes also tries to tell the story of my summer in some way. This year I was lucky with the weather during my holiday but after that it has been raining more or less constantly until a couple of days ago.
Our family went by car down to Hamburg, Germany, to fetch our daughter who had been working with horses there during the spring.
I also fixed my analog desktop (see song art) to get my new iMac as well as the speakers at the right height and get rid of the keyboard holder's legs. The problem was that my sound card, Creative's E-MU 0404 USB white, is not supported in Lion and probably never will, so I've been stuck with built-in speakers and headphones since July. VERY annoying not being able to test the setup... (At last I've found a decent replacement now, just have to buy it first. It's Roland Quad-Capture USB 2.0 Audio Interface if anyone wants to comment on that...)
The song is made up of 26 tracks (some just doubled and spread) most with looped midi instruments - and my new iMac hardly showed any green in the processor activity bars. The song is almost 4 minutes long and took like 3 seconds to convert the file from AIF to 256 mp3. That made me a little impressed ;-)
Well, let's see if you can hear anything of all that in the song. Or maybe you can hear something from your own summer. Anyway, hope you enjoy.

have been away from posting for a while Henke, but you haven't lost your touch with those synths. I love the brightness of this as though summer is breaking in and lighting up the room..... excellent work, regards M
