Description
I wrote this with Greg Wilson, a friend from university days, years ago. I recently found it, updated a few things and recorded it. The fingerstyle rhythm tracks are done on the Maton, recorded acoustically through a mike. The Key is A - left track standard chords; right track with a capo on the 7th fret. The lead lines are also played on the Maton, but plugged in. Bass line added. A single vocal and some B3 organ sound near the end (using the ProKeys app on an iPad). The drums are Apple loops.

Hope you enjoy listening to it!

Lyrics
Maybe Tomorrow (We Will See)
by Greg Wilson & Philip Gardner

Saw your dark eyes shining,
Coming through my haze
Filled my mind like something from the night
I wish that I could touch you
But you’re still so far away
Maybe tomorrow, we will see

Your soft smile it warms me
I feel it deep inside
Easing my pain from other times
Still I can’t get near you
Others hide the way
Maybe tomorrow, we will see

As your hair is waving
Gently in the breeze
It moves me as I’ve never known before
Want to stand beside you
See you close at hand
Maybe tomorrow, we will see

We could see into the morning, see into the sky
Entwined through all the seasons of our lives

As I watch you laughing
My memories have gone
And faded into something I can’t trust
Want to follow by you
Now you have to go
Maybe tomorrow, we will see

Excellent
Great piece of songwriting here. Mellow acoustics sound great. The vox is a perfect fit for this tune.
Nice song for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

This has a really nice Jim Croce vibe. Beautiful song writing and some very sweet production. Great mix!

Thanks
Jim's "I Have To Say I Love You In a Song" is a favourite of mine - so I'm very happy with the comparison to his work! I also appreciate the comments re the production - I think I've taken a few steps forward in that area since coming to MacJams. Thanks Andrew!

Philip this is such a nice melody ... it's so warm and inviting. Real nice guitar playing and a tasty lead! There is something about a subtle touch of organ that goes well with acoustic sounding guitar.I could listen to you sing all day. This goes along nicely with my coffee this morning. Good mix.

Glad you liked it, Stan. Yes the organ seems to supply a smooth layer for the more intricate guitar - at some stage I must learn how to use more than one note at a time! Enjoy that coffee!

Inviting...
Good morning, Philip. I'm impressed you can remember university days, let alone find something from then. Another mellow, inviting song embellished by well placed and played guitar work. Like the lead work on this one a lot. Talk soon. Peter.

And good morning to you! I used the cycle function in GB (thanks for showing me how to do that!) and just sat there playing - trying to get some consistent lines in the start, the solo and the ending - till I was happy with how it sounded. See you soon!

Man this is smooth Phil!
You have such a crooner's voice man! Everything fits like a glove on this! it all meshes to fit the mood. Kind of a romantic scene just like the picture! Love the acoustic! I am gonna work on the bass for our collab in the next day. Great work here! Thumbs up!

Glad you liked it, Freddy. Yes, all very romantic (in a wistful sort of way). The beach is on the south coast of Australia, where we spend a lot of our time. Re the bass - go for it! I ordered a new bass to replace the one I now have that was a cheap one bought years ago and now has a neck that isn't quite straight and so it can be uneven in tone. The guy who sold it to me said it should be there by last Monday so I'm hoping that sometime this week he's actually able to deliver what he promised!

Tomorrow
doesn't sound like him, but it reminds me of Clapton unplugged a bit. another slice of good songwriting. just in, then out, and leaves you wanting more.

Tomorrow
This is soft and silky as crushed velvet. Lovely changes and melody and your relaxed, lived-in vocal floats beautifully on top. Tasty lead break. Very cool bridge (love the swirly keys fading in). Kudos on a great track, Phillip.

I like the
Island feel to this. Laid back, radio needs to have more of this type of easiness. Cool beats, sweet leads and crystal clear lyrics. Like that inbetween song lead as well. Nice synth marimba type sound etc.

Way to go and thanks for sharing.
