Description
This song started from me playing the rhythm on the guitars to this up-tempo drum beat and I quickly had a rough arrangement.
I then played and recorded the bass line and the more I listened to it the more I thought it had potential although at first I was not sure about sending the song to Steve.
Eventually I did and after a while he came back to me, I was delighted when he said he had a melody for it and he just needed to write the lyrics.
A few days later Steve sent me his vocal and lead guitar tracks. I then changed the arrangement slightly as I wanted to keep it fairly short. The song was now sounding great with his additions.
I really love the guitar solos Steve plays on this track, after hearing his playing and the wonderful tone he got from his guitar I thought it fitted the song perfectly.
It was quite interesting to hear that Steve used a Hutchins guitar for his solos, a hollow body guitar with a nice humbucker pickup that gives him this lovely tone.
Thanks again Steve for another fun collab, I’m glad you saw the potential in this song too, really enjoyed this one.

I’ve got no direction; I got no place to go
I got no intention to let my feelings show
I got no belief except I believe in you
Why I get plenty of grief
All the things I stole to pay for you
Don’t want to be free from your love
Why I don’t want no trouble
Trouble got a hold on me
Oh I don’t feel emotion
When I want to be free
Just want to be free
Why I told the mirror that everything be alright
Why I sold my soul for another good time last night
Just want to be free from your love
Just want to be free from your love
Why I don’t want no trouble
Trouble got a hold on me
Oh I don’t feel emotion
When I want to be free
Just want to be free

Good straight ahead rockin' tune. It made me think of INXS probably because of Steve's vocal phrasing. Nice crunchy rhythm guitar sound and that hutchins has a real sweet thick warm and round sound. I like that stop at 1;40 at the end of the lead and that rhythm chord that abruptly stops. And that slow groovin' bridge with the bass and rhythm then it all punches back in ... nice bass sound! Really enjoyed this tune.
