How Great Thou Art

Description
Rounding off my album with an updated, 'modernized' hymn. Mix is still a work in progress, and I intend to have a female friend of mine track the harmonies.

Lyrics
VERSE 1
O Lord my God
When I in awesome wonder
Consider all
The world Thy Hand hath made

I see the stars
I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout
The universe displayed

CHORUS
Then sings my soul
My Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art

Then sings my soul
My Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art

VERSE 2
And when I think
That God, His Son not sparing
Sent Him to die
I scarce can take it in

That on the Cross
My burden gladly bearing
He bled and died
To take away my sin

BRIDGE
How great is Your love for me
How great is Your love for me
How great, how great is He

VERSE 3
When Christ shall come
With shouts of acclamation
And take me home
What joy shall fill my heart

Then I shall bow
In humble adoration
And there proclaim
my God, how great Thou art

Good song.....
Very nicely put together, outstanding vocal strong lyrics....

Heart felt and real, the word at times goes on deaf ears but
not all ears are deaf, not all souls are dark...
They will listen....

How Great Thou Art
This is a decent song - good songwriting and arranging, as well as solid performances. I often hesitate giving too much critique, especially if it is not asked for, but since you refer to this as a work in progress, maybe this will help: As I listen I find the vox, in general to be a tad hot, meaning at times, especially during the chorus when you sing with more power, they sound like they are distorting slightly. During the verses they seem a bit too in front, so, you may consider backing off the gain overall, and throw some volume automation to soften up the verses.

Thank you for posting this - I enjoyed listening to it -

take your vocals down
in the mix a bit, and you have yourself a great song. Like, a great song. You are punching in a bit on your vocals, mostly on the word 'soul.' Really nice work, man.

I have to agree with
Sig... I'm all for emotive vocals where I can hear the breath and other artifacts but this might need to come down a tad.

Still the song belts out emotion in spades. Very nicely done.

A lot
of conviction. Lovely hymn. You really are a pleasure to listen to. The musicians suggested tweaks. I hope you managed to perfect the piece. Thanks.
