Metamorphosis Its hard to criticise this as everything is down to personal taste! The musical styling hits the genre on the money, great musicality as always. Metamorphosis Very cool and full of energy. Great guitarring! I would agree that the drums are a bit too loud - I think if you backed off on the drums and boosted your axe a click this tune would rage. Also, since you are switching drum parts frequently, a slightly lower volume would allow them to sit in the mix better and those changes wouldn't pop out at you quite so much. Honest criticism The mix is really great. The seperation, depth and spacing is tight. BTW, outstanding axe work! Very nice fast clean playing. The only suggestion I have is that the compression or limiter could use some slight adjustments to bring just a fuzz more punch in the final product. Other than that, this is really great work. Metamorphosis And you delivered as promised! I could actually feel this as it went through it's permutation by deft degrees and slick turns. The central riff propels this and (I mean this in a good way now!) just when you feel you've heard it one time too many--bang, it takes off with one motif added to another and then we realize we're not hearing it any more, but rather a spin-off of a spin-off. Nice work Stan, I would have to say this is a great example of some great overall musicianship, all the instrumentation is really cohesive, however at about 2:35+ in my headphones I lose the great guitar playing to some treble, and perhaps the guits could come forward and the percussion could back off a tad, but as you know, not everybody hears the same mix depending on their setup, so what do I know? Also, I am not a huge fan of the electric quality of the drums in this, I'd love to hear the same music backed by a tight Jazz kit. But that aside, this is a pretty cool groove. Critisize Ah, that won't be easy with this excellent tune. My only 2 cents is that this is a very dynamic piece and sometimes the instrument that's driving the action is not in the foreground (sometimes is the guitar, but also happens with the piano, and the bass. Drums are always loud enough). Besides that, I enjoyed it as is. Great tune. Check out my latest song called Everything

As hot as the colours in your painting Fantastic track Stan. You nail this genre, totally nail it. Only comments are really minor (what's not to love here?): around 0:30 the piano could come up a bit, and at 2:27 the fuzzed synth cymbals ? get a little loud compared to your stunning guitar work. Expressive guitar work... No need to sing on this one, Stan. Your fine guitar work can be as expressive as a voice, no problems. I am also not really a fan on this style of drum work and they dominate the entire center of the stereo field. Perhaps if they were 'verbed back a bit? Bass is tight and the space you have created in parts of the mix is excellent. The guitar interplay in the last minute or so needs to be more prominent. But fine work indeed, Peter. meta I am sucker the guitar played like this, I could listen to this for hours. The doubling and riffs are played really beautifully, sounds like a bit of hard rocking is creeping into your stuff, very welcomed here sir. Wow, stunning playing mate, this is my fav of all your tracks thus far, but I am sure there will be a lot more on the way. Slick beats with an exquisite bass line, great use of the brake down where you let other instruments have their space, but this is a real guitar extravaganza with nearly every style there is played out... please can we have some more? Great instrumental... ...and the style of music that would fit very well in many movies as "traveling music" to carry characters from "something" to "somewhere" where there will be some amazing activity taking place. Your piece just builds and builds from beginning to that climax around 3:00. Really exciting ideas on guitar...and all of this from a simple drum beat? Very very cool. Music Explosion Starting from that simple piano riff and expanding out into an orgasmic musical explosion made this an interesting musical trip. A really nice improv, Stan — sort of emblematic of the musical creative process itself. Reading some comments about the drums in the mix, it's hard to be conclusive about this because I'm listening on (good) headphones, but it may be that it's an EQ, rather than a volume problem in the mix. All it may take is taming the sizzling highs a bit on the drums and it may sit better in the mix. If not, you may have to ride the gain on the drums in spots to bring it into line. Magnificent guitar playing. The tones. The lines. The split between left and right channel for the two guitar lines. Everything! I must admit the drums are not my favourite sound - but I think this is a bit of personal taste. My wife loves the drums in the CBS show "Without a Trace", I don't, and the sound here reminds me a bit of them. But I think this would be great as a theme for a TV show, or music to run over the credits for a movie. Excellent work, Stan!
