Description
Recorded as part of the ongoing struggle to learn Logic Express... I feel like I am making some progress, happily as I was about to give up. Lyrical content may not make too much sense as the original tune was about 10 minutes long and had to be mercilessly edited, verses removed etc!

Lyrics
downtown sunday morning
there's a ragtag marching band
i have no idea what's their thing
reels of yellow tape, mark off last night's scrapes
they've still got their own parade
but i'm on the other side, you know
heading for the
junkshop
get my pieces into place
you never know what you might find
i'm always
crowding up my space
scuse me while i load up my mind
way back home where I used to live,
was a great big walk-in closet in my old room
me and the mad gardener & ablue baboon
watched the world refract through warped green glass
but that's all in the past, you know
so now I'm heading for the
junkshop
get my pieces into place
you never know what you might find
i'm always
crowding up my space
scuse me while i load up my mind
let's see the brightest
the loudest, the crookedest,
scariest
trashiest, freakiest
fiercest, the merriest,
rudest and crudest,
the heaviest, holiest,
darkest, the saddest,
the craziest shit you got.
in your junkshop

ooh - am i really going to be first?? i feel for you about logic express - i'm learning it too, and although it's getting easier, i still feel like i understand about 1% of it. actually i find the lyrical content to be quite compelling, as i do this entire song. if it started out at 10 minutes long, you did a really superb job of cutting it while still leaving it intact, if you know what i mean. this is really good work, and i want to get this comment posted before somebody beats me to it! happy holidays - thanks for all the great music from you in 2011!

Many thanks and happy holidays to you as well.
I am "getting" LE a little bit more each time I use it... I eventually caved in and had a look at the instructions, which helped a lot LOL!

Outstanding! Shades of early Joe Jackson and XTC. Melodic with a nice punky edge. Love the wah guitar solo sections. Great track!

What We Leave Behind
Some eyes
see only those remains
cast off by others
while others
see beauty
The objects are the same
only the eyes differ

Alec, first, its a great song with a lively Jason Faulkner bounce. The acoustic guitar is particularly well placed in the mix. I've been using LE for a few years no so feel free to drop me a line any time. I sure am no expert but i think i get some decent results out if it.
Guitar solo is fantastic, and I'm living that organ in there. Your vox as always are top notch. Instant D/L

You had me from the opening riff! I hear Traveling Wilburys in the style. Love the lively, bouncy melody and all the solos. Especially like the lyrics. IMpressive work!

man there are some great little melodies in here. The solo with the 'ok' is SO good man. Especially with the wah rhythm under it. The last two measures induced much jealousy. love the pipe organ bridges too. Ever read truman capote's Other Voices Other Rooms? This for whatever reason reminds me of that book. I like this more every listen. Thanks for the DL!

Good all round
Nice opening riff precedes your trademark vocals. Like the sound you are getting out of the acoustic guitar and the organ sits nicely in the mix. Tasty guitar solo and I like the lyrical outro. Good all round. Thanks '67. Happy Christmas. Regards, Peter.

Fun City
Quality guitar work right there. I would have gladly listened to another 7 minutes of that. Lyrics are cool even without the context of the missing verses. The break at 2:55 was favorite part.

All around, fun to listen to.

Attic mind
I really dig the feel of this. It has such a down home feel, really captures the nostalgic sense of memories. The use of organ really adds a nice detail. When you release the EP, you can have your 10 minute version as the flip side! I think you did a greg job cutting it down to a radio play length.
