Hi Ash.....
The tune itself kept my interest and is good.

The points I would work on are the distortion in the section 1:08 to 1:32 and the way the dynamics of the piece have it more or less faiding away at two points before the actual end of the mix.

Liste to Doug Somers here at Macjams for how good a piece can sound. His lstest piece is awesome.

Take care.

Paul

thanks
for the comment. i'm glad it kept you interested. as for distortion, this is a draft and I just slapped on a limiter on the master. no other dynamic processing went into it - it's a composition, not a production. I still need to add dynamics and clear up the velocities before writing it in score.

Wow this need a LOT of work
... listening again and this needs a LOT of work. The transition from Horns to Strings doesn't work AT ALL. It's like a whole different piece. ARGH!

Urgency
Seems to be at play here. Time is running out, but our valiant heroes are undaunted, stalwart and resolute.

I agree that the transitions are a bit choppy, on the other hand, the scoring itself is beautiful! The melody progresses along nicely without becoming tiresome nor overly fiddly and pedantic. You do an excellent job of keeping the pacing going, and maintaining the mood of the piece from start to finish.

Orchestral Composition
yes, transitions are choppy etc., but you're working on that. the composition itself is BEAUTIFUL and when you get the details taken care of, this is going to be extraordinary! keep going!

An excellent
beginning. It can only get better. I loved listening. It sounds like someone on the brink of a monumental adventure who has to hurry because it is a matter of life and death. Thanks.

I like it.
Yes the transitions need a little work. The thematic melody is very good and the instrumentation is very good. I'd use a little more movement in the string sections rather than chords. Good work.
