There's
something visceral and unsettling. You can't ignore the power of such sounds. Dangerous, are you two when mixed together. Thanks, guys.

Brother Steve
I remember first hearing this and thinking you really had your finger on the pulse in summing up an emotion with a piece of music. I watched with great shock those images coming out of Japan.
I was so glad you asked me to have a go at this. It has all the elements I admire in a tune, just love the way your constructed it. That middle section still gets to me, the visual image I get from that is the real force of nature, crushing and revengeful. That bass line was the hammer that knocked in the nailsĀ”
Thank you Steve for sharing this with me, and all your valuable input that you have given me, here's to the next one mate.

Steve x 2. This is a tsunami of sorrow, embodied in longing chords and plaintive guitar wails, driven by unrelenting percussive forces. Organic, cohesive, and deathly cold. Disturbingly good.

You have such a wonderful way with words. It is so very gratifying to hear this feedback. Thank you.

This piece represents the sorrowful aspects of the human condition. The inevitability and ubiquity of suffering. Not something that most of us like to face, particularly during the holiday season. I appreciate that you were open to the experience.

Thanks again,

Steve

Great film score music. Haunting and intense! I love the tones and phrases Steve rips from his guitar. And that bass is phat!

film score
Thank you AB for sharing your thoughts. I too thought this might be an interesting film score. In fact, I contemplated selecting that genre for the song. In the end, I felt like Steve's guitar and samples created a story on it's own.

We appreciate the kind words!

Day it went black
Moody, brooding, spacey. Fascinating creation that builds and builds. The drop back around 3:40 adds further interest. Congratulations on an excellent production.

I thought that I'd had many days
like this.... until the 'one'..... that truly broke me,..... but that also eventually taught me over a long period of time to learn the infinite capacity of our human "hearts" to forgive, and our boundless immortal souls' power of choice in summoning selfless humility, and the monumental at times, but attainable human courage to persevere through our faith in something higher in authority than our human souls, hope for the future and better days to come, and our own infinite capacity to love without condition ~ to "live" again..... amidst the most heinous of betrayals and the most horrendous of circumstances. Your X2 music speaks to me of our constant struggle in the darkness of uncertainty to make sense of the complexities of our human lives, but the insistent and empowering percussion is full of 'Courage' (re: poem by John Galsworthy ~ freakin' awesome!!!) relentlessly moving us forward in spite of inequity and fear ~ Courage still.... in the face of further pain and fear of the unknown... "Courage is resistance to fear; mastery of fear, not the absence of fear." ~ Mark Twain ;~ ))

Ping! Got it.....
Answer asap dear friend. : ) Just give me a day or so.... Ahhhh! Life! Time waits for no one; man or woman.... tick tock. lol As F.Scott Fitzgerald mused at the close of his novel, 'The Great Gatsby', "And so we beat on; boats against the current borne back ceaselessly into the past." BUT, he didn't count on a few of us human souls finally getting a clue and moving forward.... it is what separates us from...... lol ~ the ability to reason, and to make adjustments; to change course and forego constantly fighting to swim against the current ~ once in awhile, you have to be sensible and go with the flow, or at least tread water for a bit till you gain your perspective back.
