Description

A collaborative effort between MJ alumnus Reggie Pole and me, wherein he transmogrified my original set of lyrics for Intangible. This is, in fact, an enhanced version of the original posted on Mr. Pole's page before his virtual demise. He left instructions that I should re-post after a sufficient period of time.

you will about Reggie. He will be an example of sartorial splendor and youthful adventure to me, forever. He was one of my first friends on MJ.
I am so humbled by talent such as his and yours, too. Hell, yes, I will keep doing what I can and keep depending upon the real musicians to make something as unique as this song became with the little I give them. Thank you so much. :)

Interesting next step
The drumming is really cool on this track, but in comparison to the vibe of the some of the other instruments, it almost seems too frenetic, except for some sections. At times, it's either not the muscular hard rock sound of the bass and lead gtr or not the stead beat the floating melodic line suggests, In my ears, the melody line seems a tad random, unusual for the music bed. There are parts of this that are very interesting, well performed, and it is all well mixed. But it doesn't hold together for me. It's like an experiment that provides good ideas but needs another round of reworking/rethinking.

Thanks for sharing this. An interesting step in the collaborative process.

It's always interesting...
...to dip into your mind and your perspective for a bit. You have such an interesting take on expressing lyrics like this that is truly sui generis. The band is a very hip component behind you, perhaps a little frenetic against your vocal line, but certainly intriguing to listen to. I wonder if you could pull YOUR vocal up front a bit more. You've kind of buried in the instruments...This is truly original and I am glad I experienced it.

I'm loving the groove on this baby. and I love the disjointed vocals and eerie guitar lead. Really dig this like of stuff because its so out there and different and creative. its almost prog rock in places. gear bass lines and keys. reminds me a bit in places of 80s Rush. great drum phrasing. love the lead break. one of the best things i have heard of mj for a long time. keeps moving and changing. a really cool enjoyable listen. cheers graham

Hi Char - intangible and powerful.
Such lyrical poetry. It's like a nice dose of pink floyd amongst many others. It builds up from 2:00 and pulls back -and pushes ahead again. The synth kind hits me with a certain nostalgia almost the band 'rush' comes to mind with the driving bass line.
Really builds at around 4:40 ish. Very psychedelic and then later hits a an almost bluesy sounding tone.
This style of music is very progressive and always changing. Totally awesome, kaleidoscope of sound and verse.

To make the word yours you must use it. I've heard the word since a child because "the sacrifice of bread and wine is transmogrified into the body and blood". Art and music transmogrify our existence into something more than common experience. Change, affect..good or bad, teach what we must learn. 	Cool Song The bass and drums are amazing! Very tight. I feel the vocals could come up in the mix, and maybe more of an equal control of the volume. I actually
conversed with the spirit of the late Mr. P. He enjoyed offing himself so he could spring from the ashes a new creation with a somewhat reordered set of priorities. He regretted pulling this song and that's how I got the honor. I heard he was hot air ballooning. Maybe, he dove off the balloon into the void. It must have been an awesome ending. I'm be clueless about mixing. I thought it sounded great before, too. :)
