Description:
Summer's over, now what?
Lyrics:
Summer Song
She's been stepping on the pavement cracks down her street
Wondering why the summer's late again
Watching friendships drift away
Thinking of her better days
She's no idea how things ever got to be this way
Well time moves on, past her by
Leave her feeling all alone
High and dry
Walking 'round he same old spaces
Looking at the same old faces
She never meant for everything to end this way
She's been kicking over stones to find the way home
But there's nothing there she's never seen before
Life slips by so easily
You're just a ring within the tree
That you must climb
To make your way
To where you want to be

groovy &mdash 02/12/05 - 05:09:45 PM
It has a nice late 1960's feel to it but also sounds fresh. Everything sounds professional, from performance to mix. Nice job. [ Reply to This ]
Along the same lines &mdash 02/12/05 - 08:15:34 PM
There is something familiar about this and new at the
same time.
Well written and performed. Great sounding tune. [ Reply to This ]
interesting &mdash 02/12/05 - 10:50:04 PM
Seems like a lot of compression on the drums and a sort
of top-heavy overall EQ, but brilliant singing. The little
electric break was nice surprise. [ Reply to This ]
Really good song &mdash 02/13/05 - 01:51:32 AM
I think you've nailed the vibe you were after perfectly.
If I were nitpicking, I'd have 8 less bars of guitar solo
in there. It's a top tune, made me happy. [ Reply to This ]
Wow &mdash 02/13/05 - 09:20:26 AM
Reminds me of `Boy With The Arab Strap` era Belle and
Sebastian. And what a fantastic band they were then (and
are again now)
Well done on this -you`ve pretty much nailed the sound
perfectly. Great tune, well performed - practice it hard
all spring in time for the summer, eh.
This one I`ll add to my favorites.

Like that sound &mdash 02/13/05 - 10:42:33 AM
Nice voice.
Like the guitar arpeggios
I like those high voicings:)
Harmonies blend well.
Lyrics seem to fit in well
The drums seem real:) Maybe they are:)
The tune gets even more interesting toward the end.
Really. i hear some nice Allman Brothers stuff in there
Especially towards the end (not quite at the end.

Great track &mdash 02/13/05 - 01:44:25 PM
Can't really come up with much to say as I wish I could.
But I really enjoyed this one. Great upbeat tempo, maked
me want to hop in the car, put the top down and cruise!
Extra kudos to your vocal sound, quite unique and makes
the song stand out in originality.

summer song indeed &mdash 02/13/05 - 02:17:02 PM
Great on a gloomy day like today &mdash 02/14/05 - 07:37:24 AM
Solid retro style 60s rock, reminds me of the Monkeys era,
with all the fun and lightness and solid writing. A breath
of summer on a cold a gloomy day. Thanks. [ Reply to This ]
beachhead of youth and memories &mdash 02/15/05 - 01:46:26 PM
really great tune, full of sunshine. to my ear (i can only hear out of one, the other isn't there) it seemed too compressed, everything crushed around the mids, and i really like your voice and would like it louder, more like a pop music mix. in fact, this is a great pop tune and maybe should go into that genre. tight, professional, perfect playing. left me thinking about the beach! Head's boppin side to side &mdash 02/15/05 - 02:59:37 PM
Fun, light tune. Yea, this is a drive with the top down
track. Well produced. Has that thin early 60's mix which
fits this well. Love the vocals and then that guitar riff,
quite fitting. Herman Hermits meets
Blue Oyster Cult. Nice job.....still bopping! [ Reply to This ]
Nice &mdash 02/15/05 - 03:31:05 PM
I liked the song. I wanted the voice brought out more.
Nice guitar solo in the middle. Downloaded. [ Reply to This ]
A new favourite MacJammer! &mdash 02/16/05 - 02:27:31 AM
I love your work, mate. Great sound; great voice; great
recording. This is the sort of thing I look for when I listen
to MacJams songs. I don't download many (because it
takes about half an hour on my connection) but I'm
downloading this! Only change I would make: a bit less
intro. [ Reply to This ]
This is great &mdash 02/16/05 - 03:29:07 AM
This has a really Kirsty MaColl feel to it. Like 'Walking
Down Madison'. A really excellent song with great
musicianship and harmonies. Great stuff! [ Reply to This ]
A bit overcompressed? &mdash 02/16/05 - 09:36:49 AM
If you're just trying to make it REAL LOUD, please don't...
Good song, bad production. [ Reply to This ]
Another Gem &mdash 02/26/05 - 07:48:05 PM
Very nice. I usually stay in the Electronic Genres but I was
so impressed by "Song For Trish And Tilly" I had to come
over here and see what else you've cooked up. I'm very
glad I did. Your music moves me... [ Reply to This ]

interesting production and eq! &mdash 06/07/05 - 12:14:47 PM
I didn't have a problem with the compressed drums. This song sounds very much like a band called the "Happy Mondays"
well done!

awesome; love the writing, you know the promise of summer falls short at the end and seems everyone but you has let go. Very nice. The music was perfect. [ Reply to This ]
Great song here - &mdash 06/02/07 - 11:44:26 AM
Just heard this on the new Home Page Radio - very cool new feature. Love this tune - and the Allman's style lead really took me by surprise. Excellent work! [ Reply to This ]
