TVR Thanks you for sharing your thoughts about this piece. You've sumarized my idealized version of this song quite well. I really tried to lift the mood of the song with the string sections. I'm glad it had the intended effect on you. As for composition and concept; I am flattered that these aspects of the song appealed to you. Check out my latest song called 12.26.12 (retread remix)

#50 LP People will respond differently to sonic stimuli. TVRicky feels enchantment. I hear tragedy and hopelessness. But then I'm an emotional sap sometimes. In any case, I listened to the original (are there really over 7000 Andrews at MJ?) and I like very much what you added. A thoughtful piece of music. DLed, of course. Tip o' the hat to Andrew, as well. Check out my latest song called SugarBubbleWater

No.50 / Light Pollution I love your interpretation on this. The parts you added or arranged really had a way of bringing dynamics and ranging emotion to something that was originally one-dimensional. I think you created something that brings out the emotions I was trying to express as well as brings in something new. I love the drums and strings you added, it worked really well with the parts I had. Switching between the moods created by the different instrument sections really added some needed structure to this type of piece. Thanks for everything you did with it; having someone work with some of the music I wrote was a pretty cool experience. Check out my latest song called 86

Hi Steve Just landed back! Beautiful mate, I am so pleased to hear your inspirational vision of this. I can't help but mention I think this seems to have a connection to the Young Gods and some of their tunes, for me, and that as far as I am concerned is right up there with my favourite bands. Magical dipping in and out of faded waves of harmony, you made it your own with those lush orchestrated noises. Brilliant man, really this has made my day. Thanks for the copy,I will be giving this a few more spins tonight, It is good enough to become a travelling companion. Check out my latest song called yucatec

Stevo! well, welcome back mate! glad you found your way tothis song; thank you so much for the nice words. they made MY day! that you would listen to this more than once makes me feel great. sounds like i really need to get into the Young Gods; i appreciate the comparison. i did listen to the song you sent me awhile back and enjoyed it. actually, there were elements to that song that reminded me very much of your style. so, i guess if you're picking up a connection to YG, it is likely through your music that i've picked it up. thanks for taking the time to listen to this Steve. the positive vibes you send my way fills me with a warm sense of gratitude. Oh yeah, i definitely recommend you giving Andrew7102's catalog a listen as well. be well, Steve Check out my latest song called 12.26.12 (retread remix)

enhancement Cool what you've done with Andrew's piece. I had to laugh at myself though - I'm in the garage, and as the end drew near there was a tuck backing up in the neighborhood, "beep... beep... beep..." I thought it was part of the outro. ha. fit just right really. . - Harold Check out my latest song called Ascent of a Tree (w Mike_D & FEEL)

no.50 oh yeah....i really like this. very original, very thought-provoking and evocative. love the vibe that kicks in and takes us off for a short trip before we fade back to the dark....and then we're off somewhere else again. a really fabulous track. the little noodling around 3.40 and the echo outro is spectacularly haunting. julian i enjoyed reading your take on this song; thank you for sharing your impressions. to describe this as thought provoking is one of the most flattering things one can say to me. that it primarily what I set out to accomplish. fortunately, andrew's original work has so much feeling to it that there wasn't much I could do to ruin that. as far as i'm concerned, when it comes to atmosphere, andrew has more talent in his little finger than I have in my whole body. cheers, steve Check out my latest song called 12.26.12 (retread remix)

kickin' it up a notch I agree, your two styles mesh well... you allow his original distant piece set the stage, then loop it into rhythmic submission as it gives way to your drum-n-strings reprise... love the way you go back and forth like that, with his almost "out of energy" oppressed section, then your driving energetic section pushes it forward. Great job you two! ttfn, Drakonis Check out my latest song called Belle Aire (for Mandolin Orchestra)

Sadness, stemming from something ominous approaching but without a malevolent intelligence behind it. Just the pendulum swinging to deal a taste of discomfort so you have something to gauge happiness and tranquility against. Actually, I think having bad things happen teaches an appreciation of good things and keeps all of us from getting cocky. People must develop fortitude against a world of harshness and pain but still be open to the richness of the bittersweet. (I don't know what the hell I'm talking about but it sounds very deep, huh?) I guess I'm saying this music calls up familiar emotions from the darker side. Check out my latest song called The Sea

you know what you're talking about. and i get it. sadness is... well... complicated. it is complex, nuanced, and layered. it is not an emotion that i try to dismiss or attempt to avoid. i investigate and try to learn from it. sometimes there is beauty in sadness... like dissonance in a classical piece of music or the dark clouds of an impending storm. but only when experienced and juxtaposed against the full gamut of emotions. sadness and darkness alone serves no purpose. thank you for sharing your thoughts, Char. i enjoyed reading them. Check out my latest song called 12.26.12 (retread remix)
