Description

Just a bit of Yorkshire daftness and larking about..Lazy Palm Uke...I was reading the Hawaii words off the songsheet and then the little mischief imp came round...and I stopped reading and made the rest up as it went along.I do not know why the word Welsh popped into my head as a comparison to the Hawaian ...it just did okay !?....as a later pense arriere as to this ....well call it Vowel and Consonant syndrome....anyone familiar with Welsh will tell you that its all cosonants and as many Ls as you like ...Hawaian seems to be the opposite...both great tongues....enjoy....

	Ee by gum Mayhem abounds when one picks up a uke. (The most brilliant instrument in the world.) This is fun, but you owe it to the Hawaiian gods to do a sensible uke song, or else they might just drop a huge volcanic rock on your bonce. As for the pense arriere, is that like a London derriere? which just proves my point ...two words,seven letters and the vowels outnomber the cosonants by 4 to 3....mind you had it been welsh it would have been seven Ls probably and an aspirate Z !

I have really really neglected the Uke..
I tink because it was a childhood instrument I saw it as a bit childish and stopped playing it ,in my twenties ...I picked it up again for a bit when I first joined Macjams in 2008...but since seeing a Frank Skinner documentary on George Formby last year , which actually explained how he got that lovely trilling stroke I have got a bit mo0re enthusiastic...and it is developing beyond my original level of skill....crikey what with Ackordeens ,ukes and harmonicas I don't have time for the banjo !!....lol

I may be as thick as two short planks when it comes to Welsh, but this was a brilliant concoction of instruments and language. I think the most fun role, were I in your band, would have been the slide string guitar. It's not often that a song has me laughing throughout. And then with impish delight you bring in the kazoo just when my sides are starting to hurt.

Well done, and thanks to the imps of music that keep us from taking ourselves too seriously.
