Description
I admire a lot of guitarist/singers like Bert Jansch and Martin Simpson in England, Tom Rush and Paul Simon in the US. This is an attempt at putting down a fingerstyle riff that carries the song. The song is in E, with first guitar played with a a capo on the second fret and the bass string tuned down a tone; the second guitar is standard tuning with a capo on the 7th fret. The solo is played with a capo on the fourth fret. Add bass and that's it!

Lyrics
Green Eyes
Words and Music by Philip Gardner
Went down to the river to throw in a line
To be somewhere tranquil and ease my mind
But out of the water a monster did rise
It stared at me wildly with the deepest green eyes
“You know that she’s with him,” it whispered to me
“Look through these eyes and I’m sure you will see.”
But here at the river I don’t have to look
Here it’s not me who is caught on the hook
Down at the river, I can’t hear the lies
I let the water wash over, those deep green eyes.
