Description
This one came from my backlog of orphan chord changes. The basic changes were written about five years ago. I did alter them a bit between then and now and at some later point added the bridge. At various times I experimented with different approaches to the guitar part. I tried finger picking and flat-picking. I played it on steel strings and nylon strings. I took several passes at recording the guitar part. I debated whether it should be a layered approach with multiple guitars or just a single track? While the guitar part took shape, I was never able to come up with a lyric and vocal I felt good about. So it sat and waited.
During my two years at MJ I’ve had the pleasure of working with several wonderful singers. I think I even sent this guitar track to a few but got no takers. Then prior to Christmas 2011 Leon posted a series of amazing tracks. I sent him a PM and asked him to give my track a listen. He agreed, so I dropped him an AIFF and waited. Just when I was beginning to think he wasn’t interested, he sent back a fantastic vocal track. Thank you Leon for making my orphan chords an actual song.
We talked briefly about turning it into a full production. But we’re both busy right now and rather like the way this two-track demo turned out. We hope you enjoy it as well.

nice chord progressions....i like your slide-downs and neat finger work. leon has a great voice - i would have liked to have heard this a full tone down....would have shown it off better.
