Description
More white reggae from Freeport. Remember Desmond Decker's "Israelites"? Remember what you thought he was singing? I figured it was about time someone wrote a song with the exact same title.

Lyrics
Can't dance
Can't write
Can't see
I can't hear 'cos me ears are alight

Can't fuss
Can't fight
Can't feel
I can't hear 'cos me ears are alight

You're not alone if you' answer the phone (will you)
You're not alone if you' answer the phone (will you)

It ain't wrong
It ain't right
It ain't real
I can't hear 'cos me ears are alight

A poor workman blames his tools
... and my tools are crap! But I always say you should work with what you have and make the best of it somehow. One day I'll play this with a real drummer and ditch the robot. I'm very glad you enjoyed it.

You're Too Kind, Mr Ricky
I've never done as many takes for a simple guitar lead, and I wanted to do more, but it wasn't getting any better, so I kept the best bits. I'm at the point where I need a real drummer. You can only do so much with a machine. Thank you for your interest.

José can you see
I'm so glad you posted the lyrics 'cause me ears are not alight, I mean, alright. This is a cool tune and fun besides. Thanks Graham. I thought everything sounded good, drum machine and all, but as I said, my ears are getting old.

But are they alight?
There is a bit where "fuss" could be confused with a rude word. The words aren't really that important here, as it's just an excuse to promote the title. Thank you so much for listening.

Colours and flavour - seems like the other senses compensate when your ears catch fire! Thank you so much for listening.

Me ears
You're on fire here, Graham! I like the guitar riff that runs through the song. I like the arrangement. I like all the guitars. I like the mix. Well, I suppose I like everything! Much enjoyed.

Help! I'm on fire!
I'm happy you liked it. It was fun to record, especially the dub bits, which I will continue to tinker with.

Excellent live and raw feel to start ... love the vocals and the grooving' guitar. Catchy melody and cool harmonies. Nice mix. Really enjoyed this. Like that last chord ... whammy bar?
Cheers

Double whammy
It's one of the things that works on my electric guitar. (Several frets don't, so I have to be inventive with the notes I use.) This is an offshoot of my last choon called "Mutant Man", and there's another one on the way. None sound the same, yet all are based on the same thingy, which I cannot define. I think there is some truth in what someone said, that we all end up writing the same 3 songs again and again. but what the heck, it's fun. Glad you enjoyed it.

Ears
Yes I remember well. My brother Paul thought it was 'the infrared light" I swore they were saying 'he ate her alive". Clever concept and execution.
Nice harmonies and some tasty guitar. I like it!

I remember singing the weirdest things as a dutch kid singing along with british popsongs, hehehe :-)
Dig the vibe here
Very much enjoyed!

Weasels
I had a Dutch friend who once asked me if I was troubled by weasels in my flour. She meant "weevils". I didn't laugh, as I was impressed that she knew the word "weasels". Many thanks for stopping by.

Israelites
I remember that song. I knew that he was saying "Israelites," and I could pick out the Bonnie and Clyde line, but I had no idea what the song was about. This half awareness of lyrics persists to this day. Anyway, it's very clever. Not your conventional reggae tune, as (not) expected. Your vocal work here is outstanding. Guitar tone is choice. Great picture, too. Hahaha. The overall production makes for a fine presentation.

It Mek
was another baffling Desmond Decker tune. I do know what Pluto Shervington's "Dat" is about, however, thanks to some Jamaican friends. But I'm not telling. Glad you enjoyed it, Les. More on the way.

Cool!
Ha ha! Yes, I remember that song. I like the 'dub' tones and FX I hear in this, love the guitar towards the end and its reverb plus the great finishing flourish.

I like a good flourish
Rory Gallagher could make the ending of his songs last for half the song. He was the king of the flourishers. Glad you enjoyed my bit of twiddling.

My frets are alight
I had to beat the poor cheap SX guitar half to death to get these sounds out of it, but it was worth it to get such an enthusiastic response. Cheers.

I absolutely love this ...
right from the off.......it has strong elements of 10cc from Dreadlock Holiday and the lyrics are reminiscent of Genesis "We can't etc".....but you have blended the whole schmear and come up with something all of your own and with a nod to Desmond......fave and down the load it goes..

You're right
10CC were awesome. I saw them do "Deceptive Bends" in Stafford years ago, and they were excellent. Truly Manchester's Beatles, Oasis notwithstanding. I like Genesis too, so it's not surprising that they have influenced my little tune. Thanks for listening.
