Description
If I went back to my really early rock'n'roll days with my last song I'm going forward here and it's the late 70s and a decrepit back room of a pub in Essex. All a bit rough, including weird noises as I counted in ;)
The shortest song I've ever written - only 1 minute so it's not going to take up a lot of your time ;)
Another from the Queen Caroline cycle.
This chap doesn't care what happens to the estate as long as he has his car.
Richard Marris played bass and tweaked lyrics.
I used drum loops and my Strat with the Logic guitar engine.
A rude word at the beginning and maybe another...
The Driver © Langford/Marris 2012
There's somewhere that I need to be
But fuck that car in front of me
Why can't the road be clear and free
When I just want to drive
Petrol's going through the roof
And if you want the honest truth
I'd sell my soul for endless juice
When I just want to drive
Oh oh
I hear that things are going to change
Oh oh
The estate will get a different name
Oh oh
But I bet the traffic's just the same
Everyone is in my way
When I just want to drive
They'll be digging up the road again
More misery for motoring men
oh It's the same old story then
When I just want to drive
A mate of mine is leaving here
He's going east (says cheaper beer)
Cheaper petrol gives me cheer
When I just want to drive
