Description
This is the first orchestral arrangement I have ever composed.
We are always reaching for someone or something in our lives.
This song was inspired by someone very very close to me who would love to meet Taylor Swift more than anything ever, along with millions of her other fans including me. It made me realize that we all have dreams that sometimes seem impossible because the world is such a huge place and so many other people have the same desires and yet there are times when you find it’s not so big after all .
This is very different than my other songs but I enjoyed making this, I hope you enjoy it also. JL

Lyrics
I’m Trying to Reach You Written by Jim Lichtenberg
I’m trying to reach you
But you just don’t know
I wonder how you will ever know
I’m trying to find you
Please know I’m here
Your just so impossible to get to
The world can seem so big
at the same time it can be so small
I’m trying to reach you
I wish you knew
I need to find you
I’m trying to reach you
But you just don’t know
I wonder how you will ever know
I’m trying to find you
Please know I’m here
Your just so impossible to get to
The world can seem so big
at the same time it can be so small
I’m trying to reach you
I wish you knew
I need to find you

You seem to have a talent for melodic song writing. That transfers nicely to the symphonic touches you put at the start of the song. I encourage you to go further with orchestration. You will find the book "Principles of Orchestration" by Rimsky Korsakov very helpful. It gives guidance as to how the different instruments relate in the orchestra and gives lots of helpful information even to someone like me who does not delve deeply into scoring. What instruments did you map to?
Nice job.
