Description
No. 53 from my collection By The Numbers. I may have used the title Short Story some time ago for another piece. Can't remember. This number is sort of episodic and one could easily dream up a number of scenes as the main character walks through them — perhaps a stroll in the park, into a dark neighborhood, back into the sunlight, etc. The cool thing about such musical excursions is that the listener can dream up just about anything he or she wants. I hope you enjoy YOUR story.

I just love the part(s) when the strings come in, and later the oboe... So lush, really opens up the sonic spectrum. As always, I am impressed by the way you interweave familiar chord progressions with occasionally unexpected ones... keeps the listener from becoming complacent, which is a good thing! I suppose I like this because it is something I aim for in my own music...
Just lovely, sweet, beautiful, etc., and masterfully constructed. Well done!
