Thanks Andy I kinda re-wrote an old tune so I could lay a solo over it. I liked the one constant string stab, so I just had to do it. Thanks again for the listen and comment Andy. LOL Really, I was trying to play a bit slower than usual, but I always just end up going wild. I probably would not be a good candidate to test drive a Ferrari. The strings Atmospheric starts sets an interesting mood. Great tone to the guitar - love the sustain - sounds a bit Gary Moore to me. Excellent playing - speed and clarity are not always easy to attain but you get them. Good variety in the arrangement. Impressive! Check out my latest song called Coming Home (MJCC2013)

Thanks Graham! I am a huge fan of Satriani, have been since the first time I heard him in the 80's, so I am not surprised I am sounding like him more and more the older I get. I am blown away that your getting the goose bumps...that is something that I always wish I could achieve. Just sticking every emotion I can muster into my playing these days. Whoo,.........the tone is so spot on and I am desperately trying to get that sort of sound....it is like Oldfield but not so "overdone" as he tends to do....I love the way that the lead directly contrasts with the backing, smouldering silky steel over a punchy pizzicato backing..............nice......now tell me how you get that tone or I will turn up at the Texas jam ,then you'll all be sooooooooooooorry............80) Jarvo Check out my latest song called laundromat blues

Thanks Chris. Ok, I will tell you what I am using and then try to explain how I set it up. First thing is I am using is a Ibanez JS 1200 guitar, so I think that is really where the foundation of the tone I am getting is starting, then i use a user preset on my BOSS GT-8 for my sound. Over the years, I found that if I set up all my other guitar tones the complete opposite of my lead tone, it helps it stand out in the mix more. When it comes to my lead tone, I like to cut out most of the highs and beef up the mid ranges a bit, but not too much. So like I said before, I eliminate most of the mids from my other guitars. If you would like...I can send you the settings to my preset, and maybe that can help you get the sound your looking for? Here is my hotmail if you would like to contact me.
