Description:
A pop song. It gave me a great deal of trouble until I realised that the song needed to be in 3/4 time instead of 4/4. It may sound a little muso, but it was a real breakthrough for me. Hope you like it.

Lyrics:
When It's Over

When it's over…
Really over…
And the truth cannot be parted from the lies
And you're looking for an answer
And it's right there in her eyes

Then it's over…
Really over…
When the girl you knew is gone and in her place
Is a person that you recognize
At least... You know the face
If this is so
Then you
Must go
Away
Be strong
Be true
In all that you do
And try to stay true to your heart

When it's over
Really over
And you to try to speak but cannot say a word
Cause there's nothing left for you to say
She ain't already heard

Let go
Let go
Of all that you know
Be strong
Be true
In all that you do
And try to stay true to your heart

When we first met
I tried to forget
The bad things that you do
Now that we're near to
The end of our career too
Much loving was wasted on you.

Yes over
Really over
And you're standing on the edge of lover's leap
WIth a special kind of memory
The one you shouldn't keep.

If this is so
Then you
Must go
Away
Be strong
Be true
In all that you do
And try to stay true to your heart

Great voice &mdash 02/16/05 - 07:50:44 PM
Interesting little song here... for some reason this sounds
like a Bobby Vinton meets Elvis Costello to me. I mean
that in a complimentary way.

Good song here!

Nice oldie style &mdash 02/16/05 - 08:04:40 PM
Nice tune. Sounds like an old classic. I like your singing. It make me think of Elvis Costello too.

Unchained Melody &mdash 02/17/05 - 08:15:54 AM
This has the instant classic sound of "Unchained Melody"
with the clarity and retro feel of a Righteous Brothers hit.
Nicely done. I enjoyed the echo on your voice - lots of
little things were well done to capture that retro feel.
Really well balanced. Nice track.

this is good &mdash 02/17/05 - 01:03:06 PM
I think this song is quite good; I haven't heard a previous
version, but I can see how the timing change must have
been a revelation! Your voicing is great, and the verb
creates a great effect but could be minimized just a tad.
Also, you could fill out a few choice moments with
additional vocal tracks. And how about writing an end?
Good job!!

Nice tune &good singing &mdash 02/19/05 - 02:58:21 PM
I'm impressed. This type of ballad is one of my favorite
forms of music if done well and you definitely did that.
The melody and your voice both get high marks.

Really enjoyed this! &mdash 02/21/05 - 08:25:29 AM
I found your song while playing the "Listening" game and
really enjoyed it. Great vocals. I would have preferred a
little less processing on them (less echo) but that didn't
detract from my enjoyment at all. Well done!

Excellent songwriting... &mdash 02/21/05 - 08:35:30 AM
... and your voice suits it so well.

a voice to swoon over &mdash 02/21/05 - 01:11:43 PM
classic. don't know about the intro, though. the song is so much more composed and tight than the intro. just need a motown bass line and this is all set. you were born too late... a perfect crooners voice from early r&r.
