Description
There are times when we know what we want to do, but can't bring ourselves to do it, for one reason or another. This song explores that theme. As usual, I have lots of acoustic guitars here (mainly steel string, although there's a nylon string in there too). Electric bass, and I plugged the acoustic in for the little bits of slide. Vocal harmony on the bridge to fill it out.

Lyrics
Not Now
Now that we’re over my life can start
With no accusations or lies
I can breathe air again I can see clear
I’ll throw away this disguise
I won’t drink whisky till late in the night
Or stare at the wall with dull eyes
I’ll see Byron Bay, and I’ll ride on the waves*
Each morning I’ll watch the sun rise
But not now, not now, not now
Now that you’ve said what I knew you would say
And I’ve real-ised we are through
I’ll dance on the doorstep and sing in the rain
With a lightness of heart that’s renewed
I’ll go on the road cross to W.A.**
I’ll buy a big dog for the trip
We’ll sleep under stars by a camp fire at night
And I won’t feel I’m losing my grip
But not now, not now, not now
Instrumental verse
I think I’ll go skydiving
Think I’ll visit Rome
Find the love of my life
And we’ll build our home
I’ll call all my old friends that drifted away
I’ll tell them that I’m back in town
I’ll laugh at their jokes and I’ll tell them some tales
Of all of the things that went down
So I’ll never miss you, don’t care that you’re gone
You don’t have a place in my heart
Now that it’s over you’re out of my mind
This ain’t the end it’s the start
But not now, not now, not now
Not now, not now

Philip, you're on a roll these days producing music from your heart and soul. Lovely playing and singing. I like the rolling acoustic break and your harmonies that follow. The organ is a nice touch ... a bit abrupt at the end. Nice one Philip! ... the lyrics are very good and positive under the circumstance...
Cheers
