Description
This is a collaboration between sammydix, our friend Scott Robertson from our DAW forum and myself. My first post here at MacJams, although Sammy and I have done a few tunes together and have many more coming (all in good time).
This song is inspired by the story of a man who is lucky enough to realize what is important in life before it is too late. It's an amazing thing to recognize what surrounds you and to be able to take time each and every day to appreciate what you have.
Any thoughts on the song or the production are most welcome.

Lyrics
Verse 1
Pay no mind to moments,
then nothing’s left to feel
I just keep on rolling along,
like an old rusted spinning wheel
I give but leave you nothing,
but vacant memories
I just keep on hearing your voice,
like a cold, lonely autumn breeze
Chorus 1
(main)
We won’t need a new beginning,
nor words to ease our fall
When in the end I’m looking back,
at shadows where we stand
What once I took for granted,
I’ll never understand
Verse 2
Drifting from the shoreline,
churned through an open sea
Holding to a makeshift keel,
and a promise of what would be
Bridge
Dry your eyes, and I’ll try
Say good bye, and I...
And I...
Feel like I’m losing you over and over and,
and ever as I leave you here
Chorus 2
(backing)
Lean on... lead on...
(main)
We won’t need a new beginning,
nor words to ease our fall
When in the end I’m looking back,
at shadows where we stand
What once I took for granted,
I’ll never understand
For all of our misgivings,
we never built a wall
There is no need
To feel like I’m gone
For you will always have this song
Pay no mind to moments,
then nothing’s left to feel
I just keep on rolling along,
like an old rusted spinning wheel

Love the song! It's so cool to hear Sammy singing such an intimate and sensitive piece. He really nails it. Great falsetto parts. The guitar accompaniment is beautiful. Sweet tone and changes. The heavy orchestration toward the end was unexpected and surprising, but very effective. Great first post! Can't wait to hear what you follow this up with.
