Working on this was like a revelation. The initial work was experimental. I tried to get that drum sound I had not heard before. After that step, I layed out just two chords, and built everything upon it. The most tricky part were the most subtle things. Listen carefully... The female voice samples had to be transposed, and the only tool I had for that was my ears.

UPDATE - Remixed the song, with better emphasis on the strings and a piano that's still surrounding and ambient, and yet far away.

Not much to say...

Wonderful emotion coming out of this track. It's mood is
captivating, reminds me of some kind of Enigma,
Apoptygma, Art of Noise crossover.

I enjoyed the somber mood you establish here, but like too many ambient works, it is a bit repetitious. The sudden stops in media res feel strained and left me wondering if the song was over, and then, why was it? The cymbal rolls are a nice touch, and generally the synths establish the dark skies that you've painted. It seems to be missing overall unity. One idea comes, superceded by another, and then another, with no interplay among the ideas. And yet the underlying two chords repeat the entire song. My .02? A shorter song and revisiting the themes might make this pack more punch.

I enjoyed the original, and now this one is even
better. Did you add the vocals? It seems longer and
a little better mixed. I think I will download and
compare to the original. I still love the driving,
clattering drum sounds...very cool.
