Description
Close on the heels of If Bears Could Waltz comes The Two Minute Waltz, actually No. 62 from my collection of miniatures By The Numbers (score is here: http://www.paulpage.org/Paul_Page_Music/By_The_Numbers.html). A possible subtitle might be Dancing Cows, though there is no logical reason for it ... A waltz that starts with a decidedly non-waltz-ish prelude and then devolves into what Composer Clark aptly describes as a "salon" tune: short for 19th century elevator music. My long-ago compatriot Fred Chopin is, no doubt, cringing at the thought. And yet the pain will be over in almost exactly two minutes. Surely you can stand that much.

Are you having your own waltz challenge, Paul? 4/4 waltzes, 2 minute jazz infused waltzes. What's next? :-) I like this piece. To my untrained ear, it incorporates contemporary styles (a touch of jazz?) within the waltz structure. Can't wait to hear what comes next. Thanks, Peter.
