Among the many things I've been missing...
...has been fresh and original Dagostino guitaristry....

Now I can rest easy...

The Viconian Cyclist
I love what sounds like a Rotoverb. Full sounding tune, and the tube saturated guitar at the start really coheres the listener. The leads are as I expected, nice and clean and well executed. The one thing I hear that might need tweaking is the break at 4:00, when the lead drops off, the guitars seem to get lost a bit. Nice job Fran! What an excellent tune and I like this style.

hi john...
i have been trying to remember what i used that might give i rotoverb effect...i think it is probably the chorus i used on one of the tele rhythm tracks....which is the chorus built into GarageBand set on StereoWide....nice chorus...wish i could find something like it in the POD!

I don't hear anything that I would edit at 4:00....i like that part actually...the lead guitars are 2 separate takes....first verse was done, and that gave direction to the rest...but there are no fixes or overdubs. I have a weird thing about doing that...if i mess up on a take, i generally just start again. My weird ways...Thank you for the kindness

Yeah
That's the Ziti-style guitar I like the best. So cool, so hot with emotion and pure kick ass playing. Hm, also, you pretty much fooled me with the drums. "Fake" you say? Can't say I can hear that... To sum it up: Awesome!

Thanks and take care,
Henke

Awesome
This is outstanding. Great tones, fluid playing and although there is a staggeringly good technique on display, the tune is not just about that. Wonderful playing.

Like it
Your tone is a bit more heavy and intense, sounds great. Like the melody and the harmony guitar parts. Such fluid lines shows the mastery you have achieved over the guitar. So many cool licks....its a smorgasbord of tasty riffery and delicious phrasing...damn this sounds good. Alas...no download though.

funny
my bass playing is best when you dont notice it...my skills are very limited on bass, but i really enjoy playing one. I have a fretless to mess with now and i really like it. but i am very limited by "guitar player playing bass" syndrome! I suck at playing any sort of walking line or complex chord changes, and my timing is way to weird....but it IS a great compositional tool, and a ton o fun!

Tour de force
Hi Fran. Great to hear a full blown multi-layered guitar track that exudes style, along with a touch of attitude. You use some wonderful complementary tones here and the track is a tour de force of guitar mastery. Viconian? Thanks, Peter.

Great guitar work.
Really dig the guitar work on this. Don't sweat the drum track. Lose the reverb on it (esp. the snare) and you'll be fine. If you've got a few bucks to spend, check out Toontrack EZDrummer or Superior Drummer. I used SD on my latest track ("Fighting You") and the drums sound fairly real (a studio drummer played the midi tracks).

History going 'round in cycles
Your vocabulary of sounds is elegantly elucidated here ... richly expressed.

Who needs words? Let your fingers do the talking!

No problem with the drums - they sound fine to my ear.

Rich!
I'm a fan! Flowing. Expansive. I like the rhythm changes and the build to the final quarter where you shift voices, then closure.

Okay ....what is
a Viconian....how many heads legs etc and does it ride a uni-,bi-,or tri- cycle ?

Amazing power and virtuosity in the delivery of this piece..... very proggy too my ears and that will always get you beers in my house !

Improv
With all my admiration for your guitar playing.....

Shouldn't a piece of music have a theme or something? You play a bass riff and then go into a long improv. Great improvising, but shouldn't there be something to anchor the track?

But damn, I wish I could play like that.

ziti said 1926 days ago (June 13th, 2012)
i think
the melody is stated in the first two verses ....the melody theme repeats itself in the key modulation. When the band finally gets to this one, those melodies will be refined....

thanks for the kind words re my playing!...appreciated!
