Description
Inspired by the Monkees and Grand Funk, an anthem/ode to the hobby of basement recording. Pretty narcissistic of me, but hey... sue me!
Once again featuring the rocking drums of the mighty Scofugate.

Lyrics
if a sound's in the air
or wherever it really is
and somebody's there
who just might be listening in
some time after the fact
though we're not in your town,
we'd still like to help ya when you're
partyin down
and breaking the furniture
if thats what you want
hey its the basement fakes
we've been keeping it fake since 2008
making our basement tapes
it's like a night watching lights out on the ocean
it's such a trip how you can skip thru your emotions
we keep it pretty deeply underground.
in a previous room
i stuck together a battleship
covered in glue & not all the pieces fit
but all the same, it was fine
you can't believe a word i write
it's just that I can't help what i like
so sue me!
on a high mountain trail
a spiral of black & white
sacred and veiled
with bright yellow petals
& ashes of the soul.
or wherever it really is
and somebody's there
who just might be listening in
some time after the fact
though we're not in your town,

oh YEAH!! I say Monkees and Grand Funk RR can just eat their hearts out! Not only am I not going to sue you, I'm just D/L'ing this rocker for the motorcycle trip playlist. Cool key changes, great guitar work, and of course Mr. Fugate brings it home! Love the keyboard @1:40 - terrific job Mr. Relic!
