Lyrics
Geordie shore written 2012

Verse 1 I just watched a programme that is full of urban shite .
populated by a bunch of people not too bright,
‘LIKE’ is used an awful lot and no one knows what for,
it’s the kind of English they use on Geordie shore.

Verse 2 don’t know why but ‘effins’ almost every other word,
talking mostly gibberish on the dumb and the absurd,
I can see a female with her head stuck down the lav,
Chucking up her dinner like any other chav.

Chorus 1 yubba yubba yubba yubb – she reaches down the pan,
She fishes out her ‘effin’ teeth – while she ‘effin’ can,
Whoop whoop – what she say, I can’t take any more,
So spare us from the gits we see on Geordie bleedin’ shore..

Verse3 we laugh at Biffa Bacon – his ‘mutha’ and his dad,
It’s now become normality to act like jack the lad,
Some say that these muppets got on tele by a fluke,
Entertainment at it’s best that somehow got mistook !

Chorus 2 yubba yubba yubba yubb – she reaches down the pan,
[With Neil] She fishes out her ‘effin’ teeth – while she ‘effin’ can,
Whoop whoop – what she say, I can’t take any more,
So spare us from the gits we see on Geordie bleedin’ shore..

I've never seen the show. But I sure feel now like I have. Great lyrics John. You really know how to inject some humor in a song. And your melodies are always impressive. Great production too!

Thank you Jarvo
I suppose every city and town have a section of it's community that is not unlike this but fancy advertising it though. I discovered this junk while I was casually flicking through the channels on sky one day. Yhanks for the visit.

hi Sammy
tv like this annoys me. I actually think it's irresponsible to broadcast stuff like this. It used to be different years ago as people knew where to draw the line but now it seems the age of growing up seems to be getting further and further away. Thanks for the visit by the way and looking on the bright side, if it wasn't for stuff like this - what on earth would I have to write about. Maybe moons in June ?.... ttfn fella. John.

Don't know the show and after this hope I never get to see it. The style of the song (sort of skiffle?) suits the satirical intent. This is funny even to someone who doesn't know the show! Musically strong. Clean mix. Much enjoyed!

thank you for the visit
I think the song itself is maybe a musical limerick. It was written as an exercise for three part vocal harmony. Perhaps a 'novelty' record ! showing my age now.....

Thanks for visiting, indeed you are right, this lot need a translator. There is a lot of swearing on tv these days and it is rarely funny especially when used as a meaningless adjective which it mostly is. Purile rubbish.

Hi Bob
You are wise not to want to see this [for want of a much better word] 'show' - it truly is a mess. Lots of attention seeking brats all talking at once about absolutely sod all.

Anyway Bob, I'm glad you liked the music, I am still writing a fair bit but not getting around to posting much these days. Thank you for visiting and the nice comment, much appreciated.

John.

Hello, glad you liked this bit of nonsense, the end bit was of course an afterthought as the song itself was so short. Thanks for visiting.

ha love it. the idiocy of tv is universal. no idea why someone would use 'fuck' every other word, but it seems to be nearly as ubiquitous as 'like', an equally stupid word. but at least 'like' is communicating a concept aligned with the point of the communication. it was 'like' cool makes more sense than it was 'fucking' cool. unless you're talking about fucking. well there you go, great song, lots of fun. and I got to curse like a sailor in the comments.

yeh well I have been playing in bands
for most of my life and much of it in some very rough places so it stands to reason that everytime someone comes out with language like this it deeply shocks me. I dunno - young people today. Thanks for the visit, it was really cool..............sssssssssss

Skewered
As you might know, this kind of crap is all over American TV. I don't watch it, but I'm well aware of it. Why it persists has always been beyond me. If it was the "train wreck" effect, at least that would make some kind of sense. But I don't think that's it. People actually get into the characters and the contrived little mini-dramas. It started here with The Real World, which MTV (damn them!) aired, and it has festered to the point that almost no effort goes into creative TV writing anymore. Just get a bunch of narcissistic shitheads together, and Voila! (or, walla, as they would say) there's a show. A well-deserved skewering. Well done.

Thug on the tyne
I had to watch the clip first to see what TV show it was.
I know of it but have not graced my eyeballs with it yet.
Anyway, Effin brilliant lyrics.
Love 'em and they really made me laugh.
On the other end of the spectrum I ended up watching 10 minutes of 'Made in Chelsea' the other day.
Who need overpaid actors when you've got gorgeous planks of wood who can just about repeat a sentence some's has written down.
Anyway
Great stuff John.
Very much enjoyed

glad it made you smile, I haven't seen the Chelsea one yet but I can well imagine it. To be honest though I watch hardly any tv these days, I find that between junk like this and the overpowering bakground effect noise/music that's plastered over almost everythhing it's become a 90% no no.

Succinct and to the point!
My thoughts exactly. Brilliant work John and would have fitted seamlessly into our Celebrity Torture musical.

I despair of what the world has become sometimes.

I loved the Neil and Charlie ending but get depressed at the fact our TV and redtops are full of this shite. Desperate Scousewives, TOWIE (see how cool I am), MIC ............... talentless, effin, wannabees.

Says it All
We have our share of sideshow freaks over here in the US and A. In fact, I'm sure that we have cultivated this genre to the point that other styles of television will soon evaporate.

Great song and well done. I liked the interchange at the end also.

You are indeed fortunate not to have seen this odious and highly irritating so called show - this is what all other dumbing down will be judged by in the future I'm sure and as you can imagine - that's up against some pretty stiff competition.
