Description
I came up with this mellow blues number after playing a few simple chords to a slow swing beat, it seemed to work ok so I added a few more instruments.

Lyrics
You got that sunshine
And I have the rain
You got that good life
No heartache and pain
I was a fool for loving you

You take my money
Almost every day
I work so hard for you
To pay your way
I was a fool for loving you

What great lyrics! A woman like that can kill a man! Avoid her at all costs. Great tune and killer parts.

Very cool
I love the tone of the guitar. Languid vocal. Relaxed feel. Clean mix. The guitar solo is very tasteful. The bass sits there nicely. I like it a lot!
Bob Rodgers said 374 days ago (May 14th, 2012)
Thanks Philip
It's good to read your thoughts and I'm glad you like this number. I had a few problems with the bass at first so I'm pleased to hear it sits there quite nicely.
Appreciate your comments.

Very nice Bob
I can't believe you held off singing for so long!

Lovely guitar work and a nice airy production. The keyboards were a surprise and work really well.

Cheers

Bob, sweet guitar ... love that touch of wah ... man digging the rhodes sound ... cool bridge at 1:57, like that chordal change. Lots of feel to your playing and your voice suites this smooth velvety bluesy guitar talking' tune. Seriously dig this!!!

Very nice..
... and complete and laid back for something that clearly started out as an experiment. You handle all the instruments beautifully - and the singing reminds me of someone, but it'll come back to me who.

I think the last time I got the wah pedal out was when we did our collab a few years back. I had to dust it off again for this one and I'll try not to back out on vocals :-)
Thanks for the listen and comments.

Love the laid back groove. Bass and wah-wah are perfectly understated and behind the beat. Whole endeavor a little Doors-like while still original. Love the concise playing. Wow, great jazzy changes under the guitar solo. All in all, a very tasty track.

This is so smooth! The wah guitar sounds really cool - your tone is killer, and pocketed so nice in the mix. The whole feel of the song just makes you want to sit back, relax, and enjoy....so I did! Thanks!

mellow
nice minor key blues... I like the open, clear sound of the production - probably a lot of that due to how well arranged it is. every element has its own place, it's cool how you did that. kind of a deceptively simple sound. impressive!

decent playing, well sung, although the midi instruments are a bit static in my ears.

Great little blues tune.
I am grateful for the clarity of the lyrics (which I could understand without the cheat sheet). You sing through them with ease and gentle care. Nice. I found the bass to be a bit too strong for the rest of the arrangement. Might want to dial that back a tad. Nice little guitar bridge. A pleasure to hear this gentle song.
