Children Of The Electric Sea
Ok, so this week marks my 2 yr anniversary here on Macjams and I want to sincerely thank everyone for all of the encouragement, critique and support over my time here. So to (kind of) mark the occasion I am proud to release Children Of The Electric Sea.
This is a another one of those things that I wrote all the music, but had no idea what I was going to do with the vocals…So…I pinged it off of a few singers and it got “zero” interest for the most part…that is, until I sent it to Sam. He did a remarkable job creating this intriguing and dynamic, layered vocal concept…his musicality is off the charts. So then I asked another musical “savant” to replace my guitar parts with “real” ones….Sigmund came on and did his thing. I’m always blown away by his creativity and workmanship…he’s also a very good friend and a blast to work with…(we really bust each other’s chops). Finally, I asked my good friend and former bandmate, Steve Ritter who played Drums on my song BAD MAN, to have a go…he just KILLED it! Once again, I am so lucky to have the opportunity to work with such great friends and musicians!
Sammydix – Lyric, all vocals.
Sigmund – All guitars
Steve Ritter – Drums
Rok41 – Bass, keys, percussion, production/mix-master.

Lyrics
Children of the Electric Sea
Flynn/Dixon 2-3-12
he can see you now
you're so original
in a matrix from different a angles
he don't know what
he don't know why
or is he losing his mind?
like a jealous lover
he sneaks and follows you
a sad state
but then you have so much appeal
so what do you feel?
don't be unkind
all he wants is your side of life
so let your waves flow
and he'll hop on for the ride
he don't know what to feel
he don't know what is real
you've blinded him with tears
all just to have you near (rept)
[All right, we'll take you in]
now on the other side of the seashore
he still sees
you in the distance
he's read all of your literature
he's studied you
and all you've done
but i'm not sure that you know this
he's willing to die for you
and all that you believe
no, i'm not sure that you know this
he's missing the deadlines
just to be ready to dive
so be clever and let him in, please
(children of the electric sea,
won't you wash him with all the things you do?
children of the electric sea
won't you wash him with all the waves you move?)
chlidren of electric seas
i know you hear his pleas
[All right, we'll take you in]
Now he's ready to dive!

Mr Dixon was very encouraging to me when I was in a quandary, and it's great to see him all over MacJams these days. I'm still hearing classic Cream (is there any other kind?), but mostly I'm hearing Mr D come into his own (2.05). Thanks to Sigmund and ritter for the rest of this. But it fades too soon! Death to fades! Proper ending forever. Seriously, this is top stuff.
