Description
I made a series of video portraits last year that were recently shown in a gallery here in AZ. As part of the exhibition, I had to create an artifact to sell. I created a small box set of the portraits that contained a 'making of' DVD. One of the challenges in doing this was creating a soundtrack to accompany the mini documentary. I was completely tapped out creatively and unable to engage with the music part of the project. Michael graciously offered his help with this and produced a number of beautiful small ambient, electronic pieces which he allowed me to use in the project.
One of the pieces is what you hear here, except the original version was much much sparser and without vocals. We decided to return to this recently and build it up a bit. Michael did all of the music for this and also the main vocals. I was going to do some vocals along the line of eno's taking tiger mountain, but Michael had a better idea to do a Bowie-like refrain (ala zane, zane, zane from 'all the madmen' - at least thats how interpreted the idea)
So i added a few layers of my voice to michaels vocal layers, a bit of particledots bass and some fake acoustic guitar
Thank you Michael for all the help you gave me with the staring down andy project

I get the Bowie reference and it works wonderfully with how you've woven your contributions into your own take as this piece evolved. I'm sure that many who look at the making of DVD will be pleased that they are not only getting the portraits but also some first class audio to go with it. Nicely done you two!
