Description
This song started as a set of guitar chords - the sort of progression my guitar teacher from years ago would have given me an an exercise! I tried a few melodies and finally came up with something that I liked. I thought it needed bass, but when I tried couldn't get anything that I thought sounded even half reasonable. Solution? Ask a real bass player to help out. I recently been listening to a few songs on MacJams that Chris Flynn (Rok41) had been involved in and was mightily impressed When asked about a collab, he accepted. We talked about adding drums, too (I had some ordinary sounding loops at one stage) and Chris suggested Scott Fugate (scofugate). A while ago I'd listened to what Scott had done with lbstrat (http://www.macjams.com/song/70469) so I was very pleased about that possibility!
When Chris sent back the first version with his bass and solo I couldn't keep the smile off my face. What great players he and Scott are! Then Chris did some mixing magic with it, including the adding of some light strings, all while I sat back like a baby magpie waiting to be fed tasty morsels.
So here it is. I hope you like it!

Still remind me of Wes and such wonderful tonal quality. Licks so sweet I call them chocolate. Yeah Phillip play it baby! So melodic and grooved with your fellow MacJammers chiming in with their Magic. Thank you for the ride!
