Prelude To A Sleep (A Lullaby)

Description
Isn't it frustrating when you just can't sleep at night no matter how hard you try?
I found that soothing music really does help and that's how I came up with this one.

Counting Sheep.
Nice calm pacing. Brahms would be proud. Again (as in some of your other work), the orchestration is clearly stated and kept simple. Good qualities for sure. ...Um, what happened right at the end? An abrupt clip off and a change of key and then...nothing. Hummm...

Thank you Paul
A compliment indeed!
In this piece I try to relive what it felt like to toss and turn until, well, you can't remember falling to sleep, so it just ends...

Lullaby
Free flowing and warm. A delightful lullaby, Christopher.

Another thought
Just had another read of Paul's comment. I can see what he means, and what you mean in reply. Maybe a faded ending would have achieved that "dropping off to sleep" effect? Are fades allowed in classical music :-)

Hi Philip
I know what you are saying, but I just wanted to end it, to try to be true to how I felt it should end. Fading is allowed I suppose and I can see hoe that would work, but I just prefered this way at the time of writing.

From a very early age I enjoyed music. From baroque to modern, I adored it all although I couldn't get my head around most opera(I can't imagine that a lot of children can). I would often go down to the local library on my own and pull out book... [see more]
