Undercooked Ambition

Description
A chilled downtempo piece composed on iSequence on my little iPad. Fades and MP3 encoding were done in Audacity, everything else is raw. Sort of a Mark Knopflerish or Morphine sound to the leads.

2:45 of captivating musical trek - starting off a with a wild photo. I'm barely starting to wake up on recording nuances you so deftly accomplish here. Much enjoyed!

I appreciate the listen and feedback. I write a bit about the software and trackers on my blog (see profile).

Undercooked...
Like the way you expand on the basic framework here...the flava in the synths is most delightful and the bass holds the landscape down real comfy for all the flight plans executed by the synths..delightful is the word here..Big Smile City work my friend..:):):)peace

Coolio
Great bass hook holding this one all together. Your synth voices work perfectly and the mix is excellent. Very catchy tune!

Dig this one. Those bass synth tones you laid down are one of my favorite sounds. Nice layering of sounds. Downloaded. Speaking of ambition, if I ever get any. I'd like to sample some sounds from this to jam over....

Thanks for the listen
Please feel free to sample at will :) I'd be flattered. The bass patch is sort of a basic sound but I automated a nice filter sweep over it to give it a bit of wahh.

Minimalistic
but nice overall, well mixed.
Beats could be more effective, more infectious, maybe the dynamic range could help??

Thanks!
I appreciate the listen and suggestion. Track-wise, the iPad iSequence app limits you to 8 tracks but you can bounce a few down to audio to free up more. The drums go through a compressor believe it or not, but there is no side chaining available. Might be crushing the dynamics a bit. I think there are only about 3 variations on the drum beats so you have a point there.

Bassline
Thanks for listening! All parts on this were created in iSequence HD on an iPad - its a tracker interface, so I "play" in notes on the keyboard but they are sequenced in a grid. The bass is a basic buzz bass sound that I automated with some low pass filter sweeping. In iSequence you record the button movements and it creates automation from it. Its a very powerful tool on a simple interface.
